Detailed Virunga Double Gorilla Trekking Safari Overview
Day 1: Transfer to Goma in Congo
On the first day of your 3-day gorilla tour, our tour guide will pick you up very early in the morning and transfer you to Goma. You will have your lunch en route before crossing the border.
You should reach Goma in the evening where you will check in to your safari lodge for an overnight stay.
Day 2: First Gorilla Trek
Wake up early and head to the park headquarters for a briefing meeting before trekking the mountains of Virunga in search of mountain gorillas.
When you meet the gorillas, you will spend an hour with them before returning to your starting point. Your guide will then pick you up and transfer you back to your lodge to relax.
Day 3: Second Gorilla Trek and Departure
On the last day of your 3-day gorilla trek, you will follow the same morning routine as the previous day. The only difference is that you will trek a different mountain gorilla family, possibly in a different area.
Immediately after meeting the Congo gorillas, you will transfer to Kigali International Airport in Rwanda to catch your flight back home.
