Detailed 5 Days Uganda Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park & guided wetland walk
On the first day of your Primates Safari, you will be picked up by your Private Safari driver to embark on the journey to Kibale Forest National Park.
This 5-7 hours journey is filled by breathtaking en-route sightings like Mityana Local Market, Nakayima Ancestral Tree and Mpanga Tea Estates where you will undertake an awe-inspiring cycling experience.
Return from the activity and proceed for Fort Portal for lunch, then proceed to Bigodi wetland Sanctuary.
While here, you will undertake a guided wetland walk, see some of the community-based tourism projects and even interact with the locals. Later retreat from this amazing encounter and drive to Kibale Forest National Park where you will check-in for refreshment, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale & Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
The morning of this wonderful chimpanzee trekking adventure begins with breakfast at the lodge then assembling at the Kanyanchu park headquarters.
From this point you will be briefed on the activity, be assigned a large habituated chimpanzee troop to be trekked and meet your group guide them set off into the jungle.
Begin the walk to search for the chimpanzees lasting 1-3 hours and when you meet them, you will be wowed by their remarkable human-like behavior.
Retreat to the Lodge for a hefty lunch and embark on the 3-4 hours’ drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park for refreshment. Have an early dinner and embark on a night game drive that will introduce you to the nocturnal wildlife of the Park such as serval cats, the elusive leopards, lions, Banded mongoose, civets and spotted hyenas.
Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Enjoy breakfast and undertake a morning game drive as you exit Queen Elizabeth National Park with views of Cape buffaloes, Topis, Uganda Kobs, African bush elephants, Defassa waterbucks, warthogs and Oribis among others.
Drive towards Ishasha sector in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park to see the tree-climbing lions during their mid-morning relaxation on fig tree branches.
Spend up to 2 hours in this sector and connect to Savannah Resort Kihihi for a delicious buffet lunch as well as stretch your legs. From this place continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, arriving in the evening for refreshment, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest and drive to Lake Bunyonyi
On this exciting day of your safari, have an early morning Continental breakfast as an energy-boost for your thrilling gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Be briefed regarding the gorilla trekking guidelines, in preparation of your once-in-a lifetime encounter with one of the habituated gorilla groups in this Park.
At 8am embark on the trek in the densely forested Park in search of the allocated gorilla group that takes 1-6 hours. Along the way. meet any of the 360 bird species, several mammals including primates as well as butterfly species.
Upon sighting the mountain gorillas, you will be granted one hour to watch them go about their daily lives at 7meters away. Return back to the Park Headquarters where you will be awarded your gorilla trekking certificate for achieving such a dream.
Have Lunch and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, second deepest Lake in Africa for relaxation after the strenuous gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will be wowed by the tranquil waters as well as many verdant Islands scattered all over the Lake.
Undertake a boat ride on the Lake to the different Islands to discover the reason or history behind their names and return back to the Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Transfer back to Kampala
Breakfast and begin your transfer to Kampala/Entebbe to mark with scenic drive to mark the end of this 5 days Uganda Primates Adventure.
