10 Days Best Uganda Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
Breakfast early and later, meet your guide ready to vacate Entebbe/Kampala for 5-6 hours’ drive to MFNP in Northwestern Uganda. Lunch be enjoyed at Masindi Town and later, have access to MFNP via Kichumbanyobo gate. Head to top of the falls to witness the river it as it explodes before you connect to your accommodation of choice.
Day 2: A game drive & boat tour
Enjoy your cup of tea/coffee and after, expect to be part of game drive along the Northern banks of MFNP. You will have long hours (2-3 hours) to enjoy amazing view of MFNP wildlife including lions, bush elephants, leopards, giraffes, warthogs, Kobs, birds and then drive back to the lodge to have lunch, relaxation.
Another thrilling will be a boat tour toward the bottom of the falls. This comes with exciting view of crocodiles, hippos, aquatic bird along the Nile and you will enjoy their great sight for 2-3 hours to and back from the bottom of the falls.
Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Breakfast and then ensure that you vacate Murchison Falls early. Drive to KFNP 7-8 hours and upon early arrival, visit Amabere stalagmites and waterfalls plus crater lakes. Later, lunch be had in a classic hotel in Fort Portal city Western Uganda then be transferred to the lodge in KFNP.
Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi wetland walk
A hefty breakfast be had at the lodge and you vacate the room for briefing on chimpanzee tracking guidelines. Kibale is one of the best chimpanzee trekking destinations in East Africa, spreading up to 795sq.kms and protects about 4 habituated chimp communities; 13 primate species including 1500 chimpanzees. A chimpanzee tour in Kibale offers more than magical encounter with chimpanzees during your 2-4 hours of entire trek.
Walk back/be picked up after your trek then be transferred to the lodge for lunch. In the evening, expect to engage in guided Bigodi wetland walk taking you through on-foot-walk experience. This comes with excellent view of primates, forest birds, mammals and many other species. After a short walk in Bigodi wetland, connect to Queen Elizabeth National Park (QENP).
Day 5: Game drive & boat tour
Rise up for early cup of tea/coffee and get on a morning game drive along Kasenyi Plains. This is a 3-4 hours game viewing safari experience along the vast savannas of QENP and offers excellent view of leopards, elephants, birds, Kobs, lions, warthogs, plus many other species of mammals. Lunch be enjoyed in your lodge after exciting moment in the savanna plains. Later, in the afternoon, go enjoy Kazinga channel boat cruise taking through exceptional view of hippos, crocodiles, water birds.
Day 6: Travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Once you have had your breakfast, embark on 3-5 hours’ drive to BINP, Southwestern Uganda. Set off along Ishasha area of QENP where you will likely sight the tree climbing lions relaxed on tree branches. Afterwards, get to Savanna Resort for lunch before you go to check into your lodge at Buhoma area.
Day 7: Gorilla tracking in Southwestern Uganda
Day 7 will commence with early morning breakfast and you report to Buhoma offices or any gorilla trekking region as directed by your gorilla permit. You get briefed specifically on the dos and don’ts to be observed while tracking mountain gorillas in Bwindi. Next you will be grouped into 8 people per group and each group be allocated to a park guide.
At actually 8:00am, you set off for a long day trek to see your gorilla family and this is likely to take between 2 and 6 hours but comes with remarkable views of misty rain-forest, birds, primates and a lot more. Return to have a certificate of gorilla trekking and later, be at the lodge to relaxation or go for an optional Batwa trail/cultural experience.
Day 8: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale district
Wake up fresh and enjoy your cup of tea or coffee then be transferred to L. Bunyonyi in Kabale. Lunch be provided to you at a hotel in Kabale and then head for your boat ride on L. Bunyonyi, visit one of its 29 islands like the Punishment island for its unique history or get to Bushara Island to enjoy a nature walk. Get back from the island to spend a night in the nearby lodge around L. Bunyonyi.
Day 9: Boat Cruise & Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
Leisurely breakfast and after, go enjoy yet another memorable boat ride on L. Bunyonyi. Return from your unforgettable L. Bunyonyi boat ride and get on the road to Lake Mburo National Park, where you’ll spend your night.
Day 10: Game viewing & Departure
Have the best of your leisurely cup of tea and after, go enjoy early morning game drive on Lake Mburo N/Park savanna plains. On 2-3 hours of game viewing expect to enjoy excellent views of large herds of impalas, elands, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, birds, Topis, Klipspringers and others.
Next will be transferring to Entebbe/Kampala but don’t miss to stop at Equator crossing for memorable photo shoot.
