The 7 Days Uganda Safari Tour – Gorillas, Chimps & Wildlife begins and ends in Entebbe or Kampala City, but expect to visit Kibale Forest National Park for chimpanzee tracking and visit to Bigodi wetland Sanctuary, Queen Elizabeth and Lake Mburo National Parks for wildlife viewing and boat cruise as well as Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for gorilla trekking and cultural experiences.

Detailed 7 Days Uganda Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival & Airport Transfer
Welcome to Uganda, the land of endless beauty! Arrival at the Airport of Entebbe where you will meet and greet your private safari driver before he/she transfers you to your Hotel in Kampala City.
Day 2: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
After a delicious breakfast, we depart Kampala, the Capital City of Uganda and drive westwards to Kibale Forest National Park, with en-route Lunch in Fort Portal City. This City is set at the backdrop of Rwenzori Mountains (Mountains of the Moon) and is renowned for its numerous verdant tea Estates.
From this Tourism City we proceed to Kibale Forest National Park where check-in at a Lodge is done by your safari driver. Settle-in at the Lodge then enjoy dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Chimp Tracking adventure & evening tour of Bigodi wetland Sanctuary
On this day the forest welcome you for the sensational chimp tracking adventure. Kibale Forest National Park is famous for sheltering the highest variety and concentration of primate species in East Africa. After registration and pre-tracking briefing at Kanyanchu Visitor Center-a stone throw away from your Safari Lodge, you will begin your adventurous hike through the jungles of Kibale National Park.
Follow the footsteps of the habituated troop of Chimpanzees with 80-100 individuals and has made this Park one of the excellent chimpanzee trekking destinations in Africa.
En-route your assigned guide will offer information on the forest inhabitants-primates (grey-cheeked mangabeys, blue monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys and olive baboons among others), birds (chestnut-winged starlings, Great blue Turaco, Blue-breasted Kingfishers, Papyrus gonolek, Pied hornbills and Black-billed Turaco among others), tree species and many others.
On spotting the chimpanzees, stay with them for one magical hour as they go about their daily routine of taking care of young ones, grooming, munching on vegetation, playing and clinging on tree branches.
After this chimp trek, retreat to your lodge for lunch and in the afternoon be driven to Bigodi Wetland for a guided walk to bring you closer to the wetland bird species and primates that call the site home.
Your walk also leads to the nearby village to learn about traditional way of life, crop growing and visit the community primary school, Health Center and many other projects.
Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Breakfast at the Lodge and depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to almost half the World’s population of endangered mountain gorillas.
Day 5: Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
Be up early today and prepare for your highlight of this safari, indescribable encounter with the mountain gorillas. After breakfast, drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park Head Offices where you will be briefed and allocated one of the 20 habituated gorilla families in groups of 8 persons as well as a guide.
After briefing by your guide on the trekking guidelines and the allocated gorilla family, move to the trailhead for the start of the astonishing adventure in the jungles.
Expect to trek for 1-6 hours in the steep, densely forested and sometimes muddy trails that require stamina and basic level of fitness. However, the excitement of meeting face to face with the mountain gorillas especially the dominant silverback makes your effort worthwhile.
Note: Don’t forget to bring your passport and gorilla permit for registration as well as wearing appropriate hiking gear such as boots, rain jacket, gardening gloves, walking stick, long pants and long-sleeved shirts to protect against stinging nettles.
A rainproof backpack is a must-have for carrying your lunch box, snack, water and protection of your camera. On finding them, spend one hour watching them live their normal lives of raising young ones, playing, foraging, resting and many others.
Day 6: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park & Evening Boat Cruise
Have breakfast and depart for Lake Mburo National Park and on arrival, check-in for Lunch then head for a boat Ride on Lake Mburo to see the wide array of bird species and wildlife drawn to the Lake. Return back to the Lodge for an early dinner then a night game drive in the open-roof safari vehicle.
This drive lasts 2-3 hours and offers unforgettable opportunities of spotting the spotted hyenas, elusive leopards, bush babies, Patas and other nocturnal wildlife as well as bird species.
Day 7: Transfer to Entebbe & Departure
Early breakfast starts off your last day of the safari then head for the guided bush walk in the company of an armed ranger/guide. Exploring this savannah Park on foot makes it more exciting to see the smaller, hidden and often overlooked details of the park.
Get back to the lodge to freshen-up, have lunch and return back to the capital City or drop-off at Entebbe International Airport.
