Detailed 7-Day Uganda Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and Transfer
On arrival at Entebbe Airport, meet your private safari driver for a warm welcome and briefing. Transfer to your hotel in Kampala for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park and Visit Crater Lakes
After breakfast, drive west to Kibale Forest National Park. Stop in Fort Portal for lunch and enjoy views of the Rwenzori Mountains and tea plantations. Continue to Kibale and check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi Swamp Walk
After breakfast, report to Kanyanchu Visitor Centre for a briefing before chimpanzee trekking. The trek lasts 2 to 4 hours and includes one full hour with the chimps. Along the way, you may also see monkeys, baboons, and many bird species. Return for lunch, then visit Bigodi Wetland for a guided walk to see more primates, birds, and community projects. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, drive south to Bwindi, home to almost half of the world’s mountain gorillas. Check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
After an early breakfast, report to the park offices for a briefing. You will be assigned to a gorilla family and begin trekking through the forest. The trek may last 1 to 6 hours, and once you find the gorillas, you will spend one hour with them. Return to the lodge for relaxation and dinner.
Note: Bring your passport and gorilla permit for registration. Wear hiking boots, long sleeves, long trousers, and carry a rain jacket, gloves, and a backpack with water, lunch, and a camera.
Day 6: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park and Boat Trip
After breakfast, drive to Lake Mburo National Park. On arrival, check in for lunch, then take a boat ride on Lake Mburo to see hippos, crocodiles, and water birds. Return for dinner, then head out for a night game drive to look for hyenas, leopards, bush babies, and other nocturnal animals.
Day 7: Game Drive and Departure
After breakfast, take a guided bush walk with a ranger to spot smaller animals and enjoy the savanna on foot. Return to the lodge for lunch, then drive back to Entebbe or Kampala. You will be dropped off at your hotel or the airport for your flight.
