Day 1: Transfer to Bukavu
Leave Kigali very early in the morning and drive southwards towards Cyangugu. You will reach the border before evening, cross over to Bukavu, and relax at the lodge as you prepare yourself for your gorilla trekking experience the following day.
Day 2: First Gorilla Trekking
Wake up early in the morning and transfer to the park headquarters for a short briefing before you proceed to the lowland valleys of the park in search of gorillas. You will spend between 2 to 6 hours and return to your starting point afterward.
Day 3: Second Gorilla Trekking
On this day, follow the same program as the previous day, except you will trek a different lowland gorilla family in Kahuzi-Biega National Park.
Day 4: Transfer to Kigali and Departure
Depart from Congo very early in the morning and drive towards Kigali International Airport to catch your flight back home. Make a few stops along the way and optionally visit places of interest. You should arrive in Kigali in the evening.
