3 Days Lowland Gorilla Safari Overview
This 3 Days lowland gorilla safari package lets you trek a different gorilla species – one that cannot be found in Uganda or Rwanda.
Day 1: Transfer to Kahuzi Biega National Park
Depart from Kigali City in Rwanda early in the morning and drive south towards Nyungwe Forest National Park.
Proceed to Rusizi 1 border to cross over to Bukavu in Congo, where Kahuzi Biega National Park is located. You will have your lunch en route in Nyungwe.
Day 2: Lowland Gorilla Tracking
Rise early for breakfast and take a 40-minute drive to Kahuzi Biega National Park. Upon reaching the park headquarters, you will be briefed and then head into the lowland valleys of the park to track the lowland gorillas.
This activity may take between 1 to 6 hours depending on how quickly the gorillas are located.
After encountering the gorillas, return to the park headquarters, have lunch, and then drive back to Bukavu.
Day 3: Transfer to Kigali and Departure
Today, cross back to Rwanda and drive towards Kigali to catch your departure flight.
You may choose to make a few stops along the way to visit attractions if interested.
