The 30 days Full East Africa Circuit Safari is a combined East African safari leading to the countries of Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda and Tanzania while exploring the top tourist sites in these countries.

In Uganda, the 30 Days Maximum Adventure in East Africa safari involves different exciting experiences including a visit to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park for the Batwa Cultural Trail and Golden Monkey Tracking, to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for your second gorilla trekking experience, to Queen Elizabeth National Park for boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel as well as game drive.

Still in Uganda, the safari leads to Kibale Forest National Park for chimpanzee tracking and Murchison falls National Park for the hike to the top of the fall, Launch cruises and game viewing experience.

This 30 Days Maximum Adventure in East Africa then also takes you to Kenya for game viewing within Masai Mara National Reserve, Hell’s Gate, Amboseli and Lake Naivasha. Summarize your safari with a visit to Tanzania’s Serengeti and Tarangire National Parks as well as Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Detailed 30 Days Uganda Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in the city of Kigali, Rwanda

On this day you will arrive in Rwanda for the start of your 30 days Full East Africa Circuit Safari. Meet our Company representative at the airport, get booked into a hotel for lunch and relaxation.

Undertake a short tour of Kigali City to learn about the country’s history and return back to the Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Drive from Kigali City to Nyungwe Forest National Park

Delectable breakfast at the Hotel and begin your 6-7 hours’ journey to Nyungwe Forest National Park. En-route visits to the former King’s Palace at Nyanza and Lunch break before connecting to the Park for the afternoon Canopy walk.

This canopy walkway is a 160-meter suspended bridge over tree canopies and offers eagle’s eye view over the forest with several wildlife, birds and tree species to look-out for. Dinner and overnight stay in the jungles of the lush Nyungwe Forest.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Tracking Experience and guided forest walk within Nyungwe Forest

After an amazing breakfast, head for briefing on the endangered Chimpanzees before venturing into the jungles to search for them. Make sure to carry enough drinking water, lunch box and backpack before beginning the trek.

Trekking for the chimpanzees in Nyungwe Forest is unpredictable but lasts anywhere between one and 3 hours depending on their location but viewing time is limited to only one hour.

With the help of a park Ranger find a good spot in the forest to enjoy your Lunch and connect for the guided forest walk to see the Park’s largest waterfall-Isumo falls. The walk lasts 3-4 hours of ascending and descending the forest while encountering different tree, bird and butterfly species. Overnight stay and dinner as the previous day.

Day 4: Tracking the Colobus Monkeys then continue to Volcanoes National Park

On this day you will be tracking the Colobus Monkeys in Nyungwe Forest National Park and the activity is conducted in the same way as Chimpanzee Tracking. Be briefed before entering into the thick forest to search for the colobus monkeys and after 1-3 hours of searching, you will find them.

Spend quality time with them and return back to the Lodge for Lunch. Later embark on the drive to Volcanoes National Park while admiring the views of the forest, Virunga Mountains and Lake Kivu.

Day 5: Trekking the endangered Mountain gorillas in Volcanoes National Park and visit to the Gorilla Guardian Village

Early in the morning have breakfast and move to the Park Headquarters at Kinigi with your packed Lunch, drinking water and trekking gear. Meet up with other trekkers and Park guides for briefing that ends by 8am.

Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park is unique in such a way that trekkers have to first be driven to the trailhead before starting the search for the Giant Apes in the forest.

Trekking time varies from half an hour to 5 hours, depending on the movement of the mountain gorillas and you will have one hour with them once found.

Get back to your Lodge for Lunch and relaxation as you reminisce on the memories of the whole trek.

In the evening continue to the Gorilla Guardian Village for a cultural tour introducing you to the traditions and lifestyle of Rwandans, be entertained on Intore Dance and guided community walks. Retire to your place of stay for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Dian Fossey Grave-site hike and tour of the Twin Lakes

Breakfast served early at the Lodge and with packed lunch continue to the Park Headquarters for briefing on Dian Fossey Gravesite Hike, information on the life of an American woman whose life and conservation journey shaped gorilla tourism in Rwanda.

The activity is quite challenging and lasts 4-5 hours and after the hike return back to the lodge for refreshment.

Later head for the tour of the Twin Lakes of Ruhondo and Bulera, separated by 1 kilometer strip of land to explore the different species of birds that call the lakes and their Islands home.

After an adventurous and exciting day get back to your Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Mount. Bisoke Hike and cross-over to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

Have breakfast and set out for the Mount Bisoke Hike. First, attend briefing at Kinigi Park Headquarters and at 8am begin ascending the higher slopes of this beautiful Mountain.

Reach the summit after 3-4 hours, spend some minutes at the summit dominated by a Crater Lake to take photos and enjoy your Lunch before descending.

Descent takes about 2 hours and immediately continue to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, arriving in the late evening for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Golden Monkey Tracking through the lower slopes of Virunga Mountains and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, drive from your Lodge to Ntebeko Visitor Center for briefing from Park Rangers on the dos and don’ts of being with the golden monkeys. Later continue to the trailhead then to the forest to search for the endangered golden monkeys.

Trekking time lasts 1-3 hours while viewing time is strictly one hour. Move back to the Park Headquarters to meet-up with your driver for a transfer to the magnificent Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Relax for the remainder of the evening as you await your thrilling gorilla trekking experience.

Day 9: Unforgettable Gorilla Trekking Experience within Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Start this beautiful day with breakfast at the Lodge and drive to the Park Headquarters for briefing on gorilla trekking and the mountain gorillas themselves, and this starts at about 7:00am.

The search for the endangered mountain gorillas is quite unpredictable but usually ranges between half an hour to 4 hours, depending on their movement.

Nonetheless, it is worthwhile as you get to spend one hour in their presence and this time is priceless. Move back to the starting point to meet-up with your driver for a transfer to the Lodge for Lunch. Spend the remainder of the day at leisure but be served a buffet dinner.

Day 10: Guided Forest walks and Cultural Experience

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park has several well-developed hiking trails to explore its magnificent attractions-waterfalls, hills, Rivers, birds, mammals and butterfly species.

Choose between the Bamboo Trail leading to the highest point in Bwindi (Rwamunyonyi Hill) to explore the Bamboo forest, Ivy River Trail with options of encountering numerous mammal species, Mubwindi Swamp Trail, Munyanga waterfall trail or Muzabajiro Loop Trail.

In the afternoon undertake a Cultural tour through the communities of Batwa or Bakiga people to explore their exciting way of life. 

Day 11: Continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park and boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel

Have Breakfast and meet your safari driver for a drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, via Ishasha sector. This sector is rarely visited but features numerous wildlife species including the tree climbing lions and although it is not guaranteed to see them, chances are high.

Lunch will be served on arrival to allow you proceed for the boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel. During this cruise, you will see the highest concentration of Hippos and Crocodiles of your life and in the evening enjoy dinner and overnight stay at the booked Lodge.

Day 12: Morning game drive through Kasenyi Area and drive to Kibale Forest National Park

Early in the morning have breakfast and relish a game drive through the Kasenyi Area for the early risers-lions, leopards, spotted hyenas and serval cats before they return to their hideouts as well as large herds of Cape buffaloes, Uganda Kobs, Elephants, Defassa waterbucks, warthogs and Topis.

Return to the Lodge for Lunch and embark on a journey to Kibale Forest National Park for another phenomenal primate tracking adventure.

Day 13: Chimpanzee Habituation Experience

The Chimpanzee Habituation Experience is a whole day primate experience and starts with waking up by 5:30am for breakfast. By 6:00am join a team of Researchers to the search for semi-habituated chimpanzee troop.

In a group of 4 visitors (excluding Researchers, guides and porters) set off for the Habituation Experience that lasts the whole day explore the life of these Great Apes from leaving their nests, playing, munching on vegetation, resting until making nests in the evening.

With exhaustion and excitement meet your driver for a transfer to your Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 14: Leave Kibale Forest National Park for Murchison falls National Park

Breakfast then start your journey to Murchison falls National Park in north-western Uganda for a remarkable game viewing experience. En-route Lunch and arrive the Park in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 15: Game drive through the Northern sector of Murchison falls National Park and boat cruise

Head for the game drive through the northern sector of Murchison falls National Park after breakfast, to encounter the different wildlife species that call this Park home. Expect to see serval cats, jackals, lions, Uganda Kobs, leopards, Jackson’s hartebeests, Defassa waterbucks, elephants and Cape buffaloes.

After Lunch continue to the boat cruise on the Nile River, to the bottom of the Murchison falls where you are likely to see Nile crocodiles, Hippos, elephants and antelopes, as well as birds species.

Later continue to the 45-60 minutes hike to the top of the falls and meet your safari driver at the top for the drive to your Lodge.

Day 16: Depart Murchison falls National Park for Kampala City or Entebbe

Early morning enjoy breakfast and embark on a journey back to Kampala or Entebbe. Pass through Budongo Forest where you will encounter numerous primate species such as olive baboons, chimpanzee, vervet monkeys and many others.

Continue with your journey with en-route Lunch and be in Entebbe or Kampala City for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 17: Flight to Nairobi City and drive to Lake Naivasha National Park

Depending on the flight departure time, you will begin your transfer to Entebbe International Airport for a flight to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Meet your safari driver at the Airport for a drive to Lake Naivasha National Park.

The journey takes 4-5 hours and involves having Lunch on arrival. Later take a tour of the Crescent Island Game Sanctuary, a beautiful Island on the eastern boundary of Lake Naivasha.

While here, you will come across Defassa waterbucks, impalas, Hippos, Rothschild giraffes and Burchell’s zebras in addition to over 200 species of birds. After this thrilling tour, retire to your Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 18: Visit the magnificent Hell’s Gate National Park and depart to Masai Mara National Reserve

Have a hefty breakfast and drive to the entrance of Hell’s Gate National Park to explore its diverse landscapes-rugged cliffs, semi-arid plains, deep gorges, sweeping savannah plains and many others. Choose from the range of tourist activities that include cycling, rock climbing, game drives and guided bush walks among others.

Enjoy lunch and embark on a drive to Masai Mara National Reserve. The drive lasts only 4-5 hours, arriving in the evening for check-in.

Day 19: Full day Masai Mara Game Safari

Breakfast and leave the Lodge with your Lunch box for a game drive. The extensive Masai Mara Plains offer fields for the annual migration between July and October where millions of wildebeests, zebras and gazelles migrate from Serengeti National Park.

The game drive rewards visitors with views of lions, cheetahs, Masai giraffes, leopards, spotted hyenas, jackals, Cape buffaloes, Black Rhinos, bat-eared foxes, elephants, Hippos, impalas and Topis among others.

Crocodiles are numerous within the Mara River and is where the most spectacular wildlife encounters are experienced. Take breaks within the game drive for Lunch and snacks, then later in the evening retire to the Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 20: Second full day to explore Masai Mara National Reserve

Your second day of Masai Mara game exploration involves undertaking hot air balloon tours or guided bush walks with more views of the Reserve’s wildlife and bird species.

Be prepared to see leopards or lions hunting in the tall grass, lone Cape buffaloes, lions mating and many other encounters.

Return to the Lodge for Lunch and in the evening head for a cultural tour through Masai communities/villages for experience their invigorating cultural dances, tour their traditional homesteads and many others.

Day 21:  Continue to the famous Amboseli National Park

Have a leisurely breakfast and leave Masai Mara National Reserve for a transfer to Amboseli National Park. The journey takes over 7 hours with en-route Lunch and arrive in the evening where you will be treated to the views of the snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro.

Continue to your lodge with an action-packed game drive where zebras, free-ranging elephants, wildebeests, Rothschild giraffes, Hippos, lions and many others. Overnight and dinner at a Tented Camp or Safari Lodge overlooking the sweeping plains or Mount Kilimanjaro.

Day 22: Whole Day Game Drive in Amboseli National Park

Breakfast and take the entire day exploring Amboseli National Park. This Park is Kenya’s second most popular tourist destination known for its high population of free-ranging elephants as well as the far-flung views of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Other animals to look-out for in this Park are gazelles, common elands, Defassa waterbucks, giraffes, lions, spotted hyenas, Cape buffaloes, zebras, Hippos, wildebeests and cheetahs among others.

Retire from this activity in the evening for dinner and overnight stay at your place of stay.

Day 23: Drive to Lake Manyara National Park in Tanzania through Namanga border point

On this day you leave Kenya for Tanzania-your last destination for this safari and involves crossing the border at Namanga border point, to Arusha Town. Lunch then continue to Lake Manyara National Park.

Day 24: Game Drive and guided bush walk then continue to Tarangire National Park

Have breakfast and begin your tour of Lake Manyara National Park with a game drive to search for the animals that call this Park home. Meet the magical tree-climbing lions, Rothschild giraffes, bush elephants, olive baboons, lions, Cape buffaloes and Impalas.

Also undertake a bush walk through areas that cannot be explored through game drives and begin your transfer to Tarangire National Park for an evening game drive.

Day 25: Full day Tarangire National Park Game Drive

B up early for breakfast and embark on a game drive through Tarangire National Park where sights of Hippos, spotted hyenas, fringe-eared Oryx, hartebeests, elephants, giraffes, zebras, common elands, Cape buffaloes, and wildebeests are guaranteed.

The game drive ends in the evening with a drive to your Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 26: Continue to the outstanding Serengeti National Park – night game drive

Proceed to the popular Serengeti National Park after a sumptuous breakfast and arrive in the afternoon for Lunch and game drives.

This Park is where you will see majority of Africa’s wildlife species and even your Tented Camp or Safari is an experience itself.

Day 27: Full day Serengeti National Park Game viewing Experience

Have breakfast and meet with your safari driver for a wildlife viewing tour through the Serengeti Plains. Make sure to leave the Lodge with packed Lunch because you will return back to the Lodge at sunset.

Drive through the Central sector of this Park where you will encounter several lions, cheetahs and elephants.

Break for lunch and continue with the game drive where you will come across more spotted hyenas, elephants, lions, impalas, wildebeests, giraffes, Defassa waterbucks and many others.

This Park is also popular for hosting the wildebeest migration and during your tour get the chance to experience this spectacular wildlife experience. Later at sunset retire to your Tented Camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 28: Another full day Serengeti National Park Game Drive

Another beautiful day as you get to explore more of Serengeti National Park’s beauty. Undertake a walking safari after a lovely breakfast with more animals at your disposal with chances of spotting prides of lions, spotted hyenas, leopards, elephants, Cape buffaloes, impalas, Defassa waterbucks, Rothschild giraffes, cheetahs, common elands and many others.

In the afternoon return back to the Lodge for Lunch and refreshment. In the evening undertake a tour of the nearby Masai village/community for another dose of excitement and discovery, then get back to your Lodge.

Day 29: Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Be up early for breakfast and continue to Ngorongoro Conservation Area for another exceptional wildlife viewing experience. Drive down to the Crater where hundreds of Hippos, lions, elephants, Rhinos, Cape buffaloes, cheetahs, Impalas and Defassa waterbucks can be spotted.

An afternoon cultural experience will be added to your safari and in the evening opt for a quiet Bonfire experience with dinner under the stars.

Day 30: Return to Arusha Town and departure

Breakfast and drive to Arusha for scheduled flight back home. This marks the end of our 30 days full East Africa circuit safari (covering Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania).
