Detailed 15-Day African Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport
When you arrive Uganda, our Company representative will be ready to welcome you into the country and for the safari, brief you on the different places to be visited during the safari and also hand over the necessary documents (chimpanzee and gorilla permits or receipts) pertaining this safari.
Be driven to the Hotel in Kampala to rest, have meals and prepare for the start of the safari.
Day 2: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Breakfast and drive to Kibale Forest National Park, for the chance to trek one of the largest chimpanzee troops ever encountered.
This National Park shelters over 13 species of primates including the chimpanzees, L’Hoests monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, red-tailed monkeys, blue monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys and many others in addition to other mammals such as elephants, buffaloes, giant forest hogs, sitatunga, duikers, bushbucks, leopards and many others. There are also over 350 species of birds in this National Park.
The drive takes 6-7 hours and involves taking several en-route stops, one in Mubende for a cultural tour of the popular Nakayima Tree and another in the Town of Fort Portal for Lunch.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking Experience within the verdant Kibale Forest
On this amazing day you will begin your adventure with a hot cup of tea/coffee at your Lodge. Prepare for your memorable chimpanzee trekking experience by putting on the appropriate attire, packing enough drinking water and snacks before moving to the Park Headquarters for briefing.
After your briefing, you will be split into groups of 6 persons then head-out into the forest to search for the chimpanzees and on finding them, you will spend one hour in their midst.
Lunch will either be in the middle of the jungle or at the Lodge while sharing experiences on your personal trekking experiences.
In the afternoon be driven to Bigodi Village to learn about community-based tourism and its direct impacts on the communities living around National Parks.
The Bigodi wetland nature walk is a perfect example of how locals are directly benefiting from tourism and later in the evening head back to your Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Transfer to the lush Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for gorilla trekking adventure
Breakfast at your Lodge and leave Kibale Forest for Bwindi Forest, via the stunning Queen Elizabeth National Park. Lunch will be en-route and you will arrive any of the four gorilla trekking sectors/regions of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Unbeaten gorilla trekking experience and drive to Lake Bunyonyi
Have breakfast and be transferred to the Park Headquarters for briefing on the amazing gorilla trekking experience you are about to undertake. Briefing is basically on the dos and don’ts of conducting the activity, expectations and every important information regarding gorilla trekking.
After briefing, you will be split in groups of 8 persons, be assigned a Ranger guide then hire a porter to support you through the trek.
Treks in Bwindi Impenetrable forest take from 1-6 hours and once you get to the mountain gorillas, you are allowed to spend one hour with them as you stand/sit 7 meters away. Get back to your Lodge for refreshment, Lunch and later drive to Lake Bunyonyi.
In the after undertake a boat or canoe ride on Lake Bunyonyi for unwinding on Africa’s second deepest Lake. Get a chance to explore its verdant Islands, dominating bird species and many other attractions worth exploring.
Day 6: Drive to Entebbe International Airport
Breakfast at the Lodge Balcony while overlooking the calm waters of Lake Bunyonyi and drive back to Entebbe Town, where you will then take a flight to your next destination.
En-route Lunch in Mbarara Town then continue driving to Entebbe Town for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: Fly to Kilimanjaro International Airport
Breakfast and depart for Kigali International Airport, where you will take a flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport for the start of your Tanzania tour.
Day 8: Transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Start day 8 with a delicious breakfast and continue to the popular Ngorongoro Conservation Area for wide array of African game species.
Have Lunch on arrival and spend the remainder of the day admiring the beauty of the Lodge’s surrounding.
Day 9: All day Ngorongoro Conservation Area safari
Have breakfast and embark on a game drive to the Ngorongoro Crater floor where Black Rhinos, Masai giraffes, Defassa waterbucks, Burchell’s zebras, Common elands, Bush elephants, Hippos, Kobs, Cape buffaloes, Oribis and leopards are permanent residents.
Make sure to carry a Lunch box for the game drive which you will enjoy between the game drives and get back to the Lodge in the evening for refreshment, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 10: Continue to Serengeti National Park
After a wonderful breakfast at your Lodge, we drive through the spectacular Ndutu Plains of the Ngorongoro-Serengeti ecosystem for another lovely wildlife viewing experience.
Serengeti National Park is one of the most beautiful places on Earth featuring one of the Earth’s most spectacular Wildlife events-the “Great wildebeest Migration” and also shelters one of the largest populations of big cats in Africa.
Be received by a plethora of wildlife species as you continue to your place of stay.
Day 11: Whole day Game drive through the sweeping Serengeti Plains
Be up early for breakfast and begin your sunrise game drive through the vast Serengeti Plains where you look-out for the spotted hyenas, Leopards, lions, Burchell’s zebras, wildebeests, Gazelles, Bush elephants, cheetahs, Cape buffaloes, Kobs, Defassa waterbucks, Leopards, serval cats, common elands, cheetahs, Masai giraffes and many others with a picnic Lunch in the middle of the wilderness.
While on your tour here, you are likely to witness the migration across the savannah plains. Continue with the game drive that ends in the evening when you have to drive back to your Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 12: Transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya
On this day you will be proceed to Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve and this is after breakfast at your Lodge in Serengeti National Park. Cross the Kenya-Tanzania border and proceed to Masai Mara National Reserve where you will be served Lunch on arrival and rest for the remainder of the day.
Day 13: Full-day Game Drive through Masai Mara National Reserve
After a delicious breakfast at the Lodge, get your Lunch Box, camera and binoculars for the full day Game Drive through Masai Mara National Reserve in search for the big five, Masai giraffes, antelopes, bird species and also get to admire the spectacular landscape of this Reserve.
Don’t miss out the sunset views over Masai Mara plains and retire to the Lodge for refreshment, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 14: Return to Nairobi City
Breakfast and embark on a journey to Nairobi City via the Great Rift Valley and be at the City in the afternoon for Lunch. You have the entire evening to relax.
Day 15: Tour of the Giraffe Center in Nairobi and departure
Have breakfast at your Hotel in Nairobi and head for the Tour of the Giraffe Center, then be transferred to the Airport for a flight to the next destination. This marks the end of our 15 days Best of Wildlife & Primates in East Africa.
