Detailed 5-Day Uganda Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park & Guided Wetland Walk
On your first day, your private safari driver will pick you up and begin the 5–7 hour journey to Kibale Forest National Park. Along the way you will pass through interesting places such as Mityana local market, the Nakayima ancestral tree, and Mpanga tea estates, where you can enjoy a cycling activity.
Afterwards, continue to Fort Portal for lunch, then proceed to Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. Here you will take a guided walk, see community projects, and interact with locals. Later, continue to Kibale where you will check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale & Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, head to Kanyanchu park headquarters for a briefing. You will be assigned a habituated chimpanzee group and guided into the forest. The trek lasts 1–3 hours and gives you the chance to watch chimpanzees closely and see their human-like behavior.
Return for lunch, then drive for 3–4 hours to Queen Elizabeth National Park. After dinner, take a night game drive to look for nocturnal animals such as leopards, lions, hyenas, civets, serval cats, and banded mongoose.
Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Enjoy breakfast and go for a morning game drive as you exit Queen Elizabeth National Park. Look out for buffaloes, elephants, kobs, topis, warthogs, oribis, and waterbucks. Drive to the Ishasha sector to search for the famous tree-climbing lions resting on fig trees.
After about 2 hours in Ishasha, proceed to Savannah Resort in Kihihi for a buffet lunch, then continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Arrive in the evening, have dinner, and stay overnight.
Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi & Drive to Lake Bunyonyi
After an early breakfast, go to the park headquarters for a briefing about Bwindi gorilla trekking rules. At 8:00 am, begin the trek in search of your allocated gorilla family. The trek can take 1–6 hours, and along the way you may see birds, primates, butterflies, and other animals.
When you find the gorillas, you will spend one hour observing them from a distance of about 7 meters. Afterwards, return to the park office to receive your trekking certificate.
Have lunch, then drive to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation. You can enjoy a boat ride to explore some of the islands and learn the history behind their names. Dinner and overnight will be at a lodge near the lake.
