Detailed 3-Day Murchison Falls Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
On this first day of your 3safari, your guide will pick you up and begin the journey to Murchison Falls. Stop in Masindi for lunch at Masindi Hotel, the oldest hotel in Uganda. Continue to the park and visit the top of the falls to see the Nile squeeze through a narrow gorge before dropping into the valley below. Afterward, proceed to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Optional activity: Visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary ($60 per person) before entering the park.
Day 2: Game Drive & Boat Cruise
After an early breakfast on this second day, go for a morning game drive lasting about 3 hours. You will have a chance to see elephants, Rothschild giraffes, buffaloes, lions, leopards, and many bird species.
Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, take a boat ride to the bottom of the falls. This cruise along the Nile offers the best chance to see hippos, crocodiles, water birds, and sometimes the rare shoebill stork.
Day 3: Game Drive and Departure
After breakfast on this last day, head out for another morning game drive. This drive focuses on finding animals you may not have seen the previous day, including the remaining Big Five. After the safari, return to Kampala, arriving in the evening in time for your flight.
