Detailed 3-Day Lake Mburo Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park & Boat Trip
Depart Kampala early in the morning and drive towards Lake Mburo National Park, with a stop at the Equator in Kayabwe for photos and coffee. This spot marks the crossing point between the northern and southern hemispheres, and you can take memorable photos with one foot in each side.
Continue the journey to Masaka and then to Lake Mburo, arriving in time for lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat trip on Lake Mburo where you can spot hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, and many bird species along the shores.
Day 2: Morning Bush Walk & Afternoon Horseback Ride
After breakfast, set off for a guided bush walk in the park, accompanied by an armed ranger. This walk gives you the chance to see zebras, impalas, topis, and other wildlife at close range. Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.
In the afternoon, take part in a horseback safari. Riding through the savannah allows you to get closer to animals without engine noise, offering a unique and peaceful wildlife experience.
Day 3: Morning Game Drive & Transfer to Kampala
Start your final day with an early breakfast, then head out for a morning game drive in the park. This drive gives you another chance to see wildlife, including leopards, giraffes, warthogs, and many antelopes.
After the drive, begin your return journey to Kampala with a stop at the Equator for coffee and more photos. You will arrive in Kampala in the evening, where you can be dropped off at the airport for your flight or at your hotel.
