Detailed 2-Day Kigali Bwindi Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Pick-up and Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – Optional Cultural Visit
You will be picked up from Kigali International Airport or your hotel by our company representative. After a short briefing about the trip and answers to any questions, you will start the 3–4 hour drive to Bwindi.
Along the way, enjoy views of hills, plantations, and the border crossing where travel documents will be checked.
On arrival at Bwindi, you will have lunch and relax. Later, you may take part in an optional cultural visit with the Batwa community. Dinner and overnight will be at your lodge.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking & Return to Kigali
After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to the park headquarters for registration and a briefing by the rangers. The briefing takes about 30 minutes and covers Bwindi gorilla trekking rules and information about the gorilla families.
The trek follows the paths where gorillas were last seen the previous day. It may take 1–6 hours, and along the way you may see birds, primates, forest mammals, and unique plants.
Once you find your gorilla family, you will spend one full hour with them, watching their behavior, asking questions, and taking photos.
After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch. Later, check out and drive back to Kigali International Airport for your flight.
