Detailed 10-Day Uganda Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
Start the day with breakfast and meet your guide for a 5–6 hour drive from Entebbe or Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park in Northwestern Uganda. Stop for lunch in Masindi Town before entering the park through Kichumbanyobo gate. Visit the top of the falls to see the Nile force its way through a narrow gorge before heading to your lodge.
Day 2: Game Drive & Boat Tour
After tea or coffee, enjoy a morning game drive on the northern side of the park. Spend 2–3 hours spotting lions, elephants, leopards, giraffes, warthogs, kobs, and many birds. Return for lunch and rest at the lodge. In the afternoon, take a boat trip to the bottom of the falls. Look out for crocodiles, hippos, and water birds as you cruise along the Nile.
Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Have breakfast and leave Murchison Falls early. Drive for 7–8 hours to Kibale Forest. On arrival, visit the Amabere caves, waterfalls, and crater lakes. Stop for lunch in Fort Portal before continuing to your lodge near Kibale.
Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking, Bigodi Wetland Walk & Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, attend a briefing for chimpanzee trekking. Kibale Forest is home to about 1,500 chimpanzees and 13 other primate species. The trek takes 2–4 hours, with time to watch the chimps in their natural home. Return for lunch, then take a guided walk in Bigodi Wetland to see more primates, birds, and plants. Later, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park for the night.
Day 5: Game Drive & Boat Tour
Begin with tea or coffee, then go for a 3–4 hour morning game drive on the Kasenyi Plains. Expect to see elephants, lions, leopards, kobs, warthogs, and many bird species. After lunch at the lodge, enjoy a boat trip on the Kazinga Channel to spot hippos, crocodiles, and water birds.
Day 6: Travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, drive for 3–5 hours to Bwindi. Pass through the Ishasha area of Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you may see tree-climbing lions. Stop for lunch at Savanna Resort, then continue to your lodge in Buhoma.
Day 7: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
Start the day with breakfast and report to the park office for a briefing on gorilla trekking in Bwindi. Groups of 8 visitors are assigned to a guide. At 8:00 am, begin your trek, which may take 2–6 hours. Along the way, enjoy views of the rainforest, birds, and primates. Once you find the gorillas, you will spend one hour with them. After the trek, receive a certificate and return to the lodge. You may also choose to take part in a Batwa cultural visit in the afternoon.
Day 8: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi & Boat Trip
Have breakfast and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale. Enjoy lunch in Kabale town, then take a boat ride on the lake. Visit islands such as Punishment Island, known for its history, or Bushara Island for a nature walk. Spend the night at a lodge near the lake.
Day 9: Boat Ride & Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
After a relaxed breakfast, take another boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi. Later, drive to Lake Mburo National Park. Arrive in the evening for a short game drive before resting at the lodge.
Day 10: Game Viewing & Departure
Have tea or coffee, then go for a 2–3 hour game drive on the savannas of Lake Mburo. Look out for zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, impalas, elands, topis, and many birds. After the game drive, start your journey back to Entebbe or Kampala. Stop at the Equator for photos before continuing to the airport or hotel.
