Detailed 13-Day Madagascar Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Antananarivo and Safari Briefing

On arrival at the airport, we will meet you with a sign showing your name and drive you to your hotel in Antananarivo, where you will be briefed on your trip and can ask any questions.

Day 2: Visit Queen’s Palace and Drive to Antsirabe

After breakfast, visit the Queen’s Palace to learn about Madagascar’s monarchy, then head to the market to see local products and daily life.

Drive to Antsirabe, stopping at Ambatolampy to visit the pot-making capital of Madagascar. On arrival in Antsirabe, enjoy a city tour, with dinner at your hotel or a local restaurant. Overnight at Vatolahy Hotel.

Day 3: Antsirabe City Tour and Journey to Morondava

After breakfast, continue the city tour of Antsirabe, Madagascar’s third largest city after Antananarivo and Toamasina. Visit the Zebu Horn Factory and the miniatures workshop, then enjoy a rickshaw ride along the avenue.

Continue southwest on National Road 34 toward Morondava, stopping for photos of the land, mountains, zebus, gold mining sites, and local villages.

Day 4: Drive to Bekopaka via Baobab Alley

After breakfast, head to Bekopaka village, the gateway to Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park. Stop briefly at Baobab Alley for your first look at these trees. Continue through baobab forest, passing villages and crossing two rivers by ferry.

After the first ferry, stop for lunch in Belo sur Tsiribihina, then continue toward Bekopaka, crossing the Manambolo River by ferry and driving about 30 minutes to Olympe du Bemaraha Hotel for the night.

Day 5: Explore Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park

Explore Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park, home to many lemur, bird, and reptile species. The park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the largest protected area in Madagascar.

See the cathedral from the viewpoint, the hanging bridge, and wildlife including sifaka lemurs, brown lemurs, birds, and the fossa, along with unique plants like palissandre trees.

After lunch, visit the smaller section of the park before returning to Olympe du Bemaraha Hotel.

Day 6: Return to Morondava with Sunset at Baobab Alley

After breakfast, travel south to Morondava, stopping at the “In-Love Baobab,” a pair of baobab trees grown together, a symbol of love where many couples visit to renew their vows.

Continue to Baobab Alley to see one of Madagascar’s most famous sunsets before arriving in Morondava for the night.

Day 7: Drive Back to Antsirabe

After breakfast, head back to Antsirabe, stopping in villages along the way to stretch and enjoy the scenery. Overnight at Vatolahy Hotel in Antsirabe.

Day 8: Return to Antananarivo

After a late breakfast, drive back to Antananarivo, enjoying the land along the way and stopping for lunch at a restaurant known for duck liver and other local dishes. Overnight at Le Tripolitsa Hotel in Antananarivo.

Day 9: Fly to Nosy Be and Relax at Sable Blanc Hotel

After breakfast, depending on flight times, head to Ivato Airport for a domestic flight to Nosy Be. On arrival, check into Sable Blanc Hotel to relax or explore Nosy Be.

Day 10: Free Day to Enjoy Nosy Be Island

Today is a free day to relax at the beach or explore Nosy Be further, with optional activities including visiting nearby islands, kayaking, and snorkeling. Overnight at Sable Blanc Hotel.

Day 11: Day Trip to Nosy Iranja Island

After breakfast, head to Nosy Be port for a 1.5 hour speedboat ride to Nosy Iranja, one of Madagascar’s most beautiful islands. Enjoy lunch with mixed seafood, with time for snorkeling and visiting the village of Nosy Iranja.

Day 12: Fly Back to Antananarivo and City Tour

After breakfast, transfer to the airport in Nosy Be and fly back to Antananarivo. After checking into your hotel, visit the upper city, Manjakamiadana Palace, and the Andafiavaratra Museum, important historical sites in Madagascar.

Day 13: Souvenir Shopping and Departure

On your final day, enjoy a free morning to shop for souvenirs, including Malagasy crafts, spices, and vanilla. Transfer to Ivato International Airport, arriving two hours before your flight.
