Detailed 5-Day Madagascar Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Antananarivo and City Highlights

On arrival in Antananarivo, Madagascar’s capital, your representative will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel.

You will have the rest of the day to rest or explore the capital, where you can see local culture and historical sites. This marks the start of your tour, giving you a look at Malagasy traditions and colonial history as you visit markets and other key spots in the city.

Day 2: Drive to Andasibe and Night Walk

After a short city tour around Tana, begin your journey to Andasibe, passing through green land into the humid part of Madagascar. See rice fields, waterfalls, lakes, and forest areas, and pass villages of the Merina people along the mountain slopes.

On arrival, check in to your hotel. In the evening, join a night walk in the Andasibe area to see night-active lemurs and other nocturnal animals.

Day 3: Explore Andasibe Reserve and V.O.I.I.M.A Community Reserve

After an early breakfast, visit the Andasibe Reserve. Your guide will help you spot the indri, the largest lemur species, along with many orchids, chameleons, tenrecs, and birds.

This reserve is a great place to see Madagascar’s wildlife and plants up close. In the afternoon, visit the V.O.I.I.M.A Community Reserve, home to brown lemurs, indri, chameleons, geckos, and birds.

Day 4: Return to Antananarivo and Cycling Tour of Ambohimanga

Travel back to Antananarivo and take part in a cycling tour to Ambohimanga King’s Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is the birthplace of the Merina Kingdom and still holds spiritual and cultural meaning.

As you cycle through the land, visit the palace and its grounds, learning about the history and traditions that have shaped Madagascar’s identity.
