Detailed 5-Day Madagascar Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Antananarivo & City Highlights
Upon arrival in Antananarivo, Madagascar’s capital, your representative will meet you at the airport and transfer you safely to your hotel.
You will have the rest of the day to rest or explore the capital city, where you will discover interesting places, local culture, and historical landmarks.
This will be the start of your exciting tour, giving you a glimpse of Malagasy traditions and colonial history as you visit markets and other key spots in the city.
Day 2: Drive to Andasibe & Night Walk
After a short city tour around Tana, you will begin your journey to Andasibe, passing through green vegetation and into the humid part of Madagascar. You will see rice fields, waterfalls, lakes, and forest areas, and pass by villages of the Merina people along the mountain slopes.
When you arrive, you will check in to your hotel. In the evening, you will go for a night walk in the Andasibe area to see night-active lemurs and other nocturnal animals.
Day 3: Explore Andasibe Reserve & V.O.I.I.M.A Community Reserve
After an early breakfast, you will visit the Andasibe Reserve. Your guide will help you spot the Indri, the largest lemur species, and you will also see many orchids, chameleons, tenrecs, and birds.
This reserve is a great place to see Madagascar’s wildlife and plants up close. In the afternoon, you will visit the V.O.I.I.M.A Community Reserve, where you can see more wildlife, including brown lemurs, Indri, chameleons, geckos, and birds.
Day 4: Return to Antananarivo & Cycling Tour of Ambohimanga
Today you will travel back to Antananarivo and take part in a cycling tour to Ambohimanga King’s Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This place is the birthplace of the Merina Kingdom and still holds spiritual and cultural importance.
As you cycle through the landscapes, you will visit the palace and its grounds, learning about the history and traditions that have shaped Madagascar’s identity.
Day 5: Departure & End of Tour
After breakfast, it will be time to say goodbye to Madagascar’s wildlife and landscapes. You will begin your journey back to Antananarivo, filled with lasting memories of the lemurs, nature, and wonderful experiences you had during your tour of the Andasibe Reserve.
