Detailed 10-Day Madagascar Beach and Lemur Tour Itinerary
Days 1 to 3: Relax and Explore on Nosy Komba Island
On the first day, arrive at Nosy Be Archipelago. A representative will meet you at Nosy Be Airport and transfer you to Hell-Ville, where you continue by boat to Tsara Komba Lodge.
Spend the next three nights on Nosy Komba, known as Lemur Island, the most popular island in the Nosy Be Archipelago. Enjoy activities at the hotel or the beach, including visits to local villages, snorkeling, beach volleyball, racketball, badminton, frisbee, canoe trips, reading, or indoor games.
Day 4: Fly to Antananarivo and Travel to Andasibe
After breakfast, check out of Tsara Komba Lodge and transfer to the airport for your domestic flight to Antananarivo. On arrival, your guide will meet you and drive you to Andasibe through green land with rice fields, waterfalls, and small forest areas, passing villages of the Merina people.
After checking in to your hotel, join a night walk in the Andasibe area to see night-active lemurs and other nocturnal wildlife.
Day 5: Wildlife Watching in Andasibe National Park
In the early morning, after breakfast, visit the Andasibe Reserve. Your guide will help you look for the indri, the largest lemur species, along with other wildlife like orchids, chameleons, tenrecs, and many birds.
In the afternoon, visit the V.O.I.I.M.A Community Reserve, home to brown lemurs, indris, chameleons, geckos, and birds.
Day 6: Return to Antananarivo and City Tour
After breakfast, drive back to Antananarivo, stopping for lunch at the Reptile and Butterfly Farm (lunch at your own cost).
On arrival in Antananarivo, spend the afternoon touring the capital, also known as the City of Thousands, where the first king began uniting the island’s kingdoms. Later, check into your hotel.
Day 7: Fly to Fort Dauphin and Drive to Mandrare River Camp
After breakfast, transfer to Ivato Airport for your two hour flight to Fort Dauphin on the southeast coast. On landing, your guide will meet you for lunch in Fort Dauphin, then drive you on a three hour journey to the Antandroy Spiny Forest (a charter flight is available at extra cost).
Along the way, see rice fields, tropical plants, and forests, followed by sisal plantations and dry spiny forest. In the evening, settle into your tented camp with views across the Mandrare River.
Day 8: Explore the Sacred Antandroy Forest and Local Culture
After breakfast, join a guided tour of the sacred Antandroy Forest. Cross the river on foot to see lemurs, birds, and the tombs of the Antandroy ancestors. Your guide will explain local culture and ancestor worship traditions.
Return to camp for a buffet lunch. In the afternoon, relax or join optional activities like visiting the sand dunes at Lake Anony, watching the sunset at the baobabs, a night walk, traditional dance performances, or visiting a village or local school.
Day 9: Leisure Day with Optional Activities at Mandrare River Camp
This day is yours to enjoy as you wish. Your guide can suggest activities based on your interests. Mornings and late afternoons are the best times for activities to avoid the midday sun.

Day 10: Return to Antananarivo and Departure
