Detailed 19-Day Madagascar Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Antananarivo & Safari Briefing
We will meet you at the airport with a sign showing your name. After picking you up, we will transfer you to your hotel where you will receive a detailed briefing about your journey and get answers to any questions you may have. You will stay overnight at Chalet des Roses Hotel or a similar place.
Day 2: City Tour & Drive to Andasibe
After breakfast, you will enjoy a city tour that includes a visit to the Antananarivo market and a short visit to the Queen’s Palace, where you will learn about the history of Madagascar.
After the tour, we will drive to Andasibe, passing through beautiful landscapes, mountains, and villages. We will stop for lunch along the way.
Once we arrive in Andasibe, you will check in to your hotel and rest before going on a night walk to see night-active lemurs, frogs, and chameleons.
Day 3: Full-Day Wildlife Experience at Andasibe National Park
Today, you will spend a full day at Andasibe-Mantadia National Park. The park is full of thick forests, orchids, moss, and fern trees. You will look for lemurs, including the Indri-Indri, diademed sifaka, common brown lemur, bamboo lemur, and sportive lemur.
The park also has rare woods like palisander and ebony, and over 100 species of birds. Later, you will visit the Vakona Reserve, where you can see lemurs, crocodiles, ducks, kingfishers, and other birds. You will stay overnight at Andasibe Lemurs Lodge.
Day 4: Visit Reptile Park & Travel to Antsirabe
After breakfast, you will head to Antsirabe. On the way, you will visit the reptile park to see chameleons, geckos, snakes, crocodiles, frogs, butterflies, and lemurs. The visit will take around 2 hours.
Then we continue the journey, stopping briefly at Ambatolampy to visit a pottery factory. After lunch, we will drive to Antsirabe, check into the hotel, and rest for the evening. You will stay at Vatolahy Hotel.
Day 5: Antsirabe City Tour & Drive to Morondava
Start your day by visiting the Zebu Horn Factory and a miniature workshop before driving to Morondava. On the way, you will see many zebus, baobabs, and villages. You will arrive in Morondava and stay overnight at Vezo Beach Hotel or similar.
Day 6: Drive to Kirindy Forest & Night Walk
After breakfast, you will drive to Kirindy Forest. Along the way, we will pass through Baobab Avenue and stop briefly for photos. At Kirindy, you will go for a night walk to spot night lemurs, sleeping birds, and geckos. You will stay at Relais de Kirindy Hotel.
Day 7: Explore Kirindy & Travel to Bekopaka
After breakfast, you will explore Kirindy Forest to see lemurs, the fossa, and various birds. Later, you will drive to the Tsingy National Park entrance (Bekopaka), crossing two rivers by ferry.
After lunch in Belo sur Tsiribihina, we continue the journey. Before reaching the hotel, we cross the Manambolo River. You will stay at Orchidée du Bemaraha Hotel.
Day 8: Full-Day Visit to Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park
Today you will explore Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the largest protected area in Madagascar. You will visit the cathedral, viewpoint, hanging bridge, and spot wildlife such as sifaka lemurs, brown lemurs, birds, and possibly the fossa.
You will also see native plants like palissandre. After lunch, you can either continue exploring or relax at the hotel. Overnight at Orchidée du Bemaraha Hotel.
Day 9: Return to Morondava with Sunset at Baobab Avenue
After breakfast, we will head back to Morondava. Along the way, we will stop at the “In-Love Baobab,” a pair of intertwined baobab trees. In the evening, you will enjoy watching the sunset at Baobab Avenue before heading to Morondava for the night at Vezo Beach Hotel.
Day 10: Drive Back to Antsirabe
After breakfast, we will drive back to Antsirabe, stopping at villages and enjoying the landscape. You can rest during the drive. Overnight at Vatolahy Hotel in Antsirabe.
Day 11: City Tour & Travel to Ranomafana with Night Walk
After breakfast, you will enjoy a city tour that includes visits to the Zebu Horn Workshop and a half-precious stone workshop, and a rickshaw ride. Then we continue on RN7 toward Ranomafana.
On the way, you will stop at Ambositra to visit a woodcraft workshop. In the evening, you will go for a night walk in Ranomafana to see frogs, chameleons, and night-active lemurs. Overnight at Centrest Hotel.
Day 12: Explore Ranomafana National Park
You will spend the full day in Ranomafana National Park, one of Madagascar’s biggest rainforests. You will see lemurs, birds, plants, and waterfalls.
In the afternoon, you can swim in the natural hot springs or visit the botanical garden to spot chameleons. Overnight at Centrest Hotel or similar.
Day 13: Visit Anja Park & Travel to Ranohira
After breakfast, we will leave early for Ranohira. On the way, we will visit Anja Park to see and photograph ring-tailed lemurs and chameleons.
After lunch, we will continue to Ranohira and check into Satrana Lodge Hotel or similar.
Day 14: Full-Day Adventure in Isalo National Park
After breakfast, you will explore Isalo National Park, known for its unique rock formations and natural swimming pools. You can enjoy a picnic lunch at one of the park’s pools.
In the afternoon, you will hike back and return to your hotel. Overnight at Satrana Lodge Hotel.
Day 15: Drive to Ifaty with Wildlife Stops
After breakfast, we will drive toward Ifaty. On the way, we will stop to take photos of colorful Mahafaly tombs and go on a walking safari to see Verreaux’s sifaka lemurs, sportive lemurs, and chameleons.
We will visit Antsokay Arboretum before arriving in Ifaty. Overnight at La Bella Donna Hotel or similar.
Days 16–17: Relax & Explore Ifaty Beach
These two days are free for you to enjoy the beach. You can visit the nearby baobab forest, snorkel, or go scuba diving. Overnight at La Bella Donna Hotel.
Day 18: Fly Back to Antananarivo
After a relaxed morning at the beach, we will drive to Toliara for lunch. From there, we will take a domestic flight back to Antananarivo.
Upon arrival, we will transfer you to Chalet des Roses Hotel for your final night.
Day 19: Souvenir Shopping & Departure
On your last day, you will have time for souvenir shopping. You can buy Malagasy crafts, spices, vanilla, and more. After shopping, we will transfer you to Ivato International Airport 2 hours before your flight.
