Detailed 19-Day Madagascar Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Antananarivo and Safari Briefing

We will meet you at the airport with a sign showing your name, then transfer you to your hotel for a briefing about your trip and time for any questions. Overnight at Chalet des Roses Hotel or similar.

Day 2: City Tour and Drive to Andasibe

After breakfast, enjoy a city tour, including the Antananarivo market and a short visit to the Queen’s Palace to learn about Madagascar’s history.

Drive to Andasibe, passing landscapes, mountains, and villages, with a stop for lunch. On arrival, check in and rest before a night walk to see night-active lemurs, frogs, and chameleons.

Day 3: Full Day Wildlife Experience at Andasibe National Park

Spend a full day at Andasibe-Mantadia National Park, home to thick forest, orchids, moss, and fern trees. Look for lemurs, including the indri-indri, diademed sifaka, common brown lemur, bamboo lemur, and sportive lemur.

The park also has rare woods like palisander and ebony, plus over 100 bird species. Later, visit the Vakona Reserve to see lemurs, crocodiles, ducks, and kingfishers. Overnight at Andasibe Lemurs Lodge.

Day 4: Visit Reptile Park and Travel to Antsirabe

After breakfast, head to Antsirabe. On the way, visit the reptile park to see chameleons, geckos, snakes, crocodiles, frogs, butterflies, and lemurs, a visit lasting around 2 hours.

Stop briefly at Ambatolampy to visit a pottery factory. After lunch, drive to Antsirabe, check in, and rest for the evening. Overnight at Vatolahy Hotel.

Day 5: Antsirabe City Tour and Drive to Morondava

Visit the Zebu Horn Factory and a miniature workshop before driving to Morondava, passing zebus, baobabs, and villages along the way. Overnight at Vezo Beach Hotel or similar.

Day 6: Drive to Kirindy Forest and Night Walk

After breakfast, drive to Kirindy Forest, passing through Baobab Avenue with a stop for photos. At Kirindy, join a night walk to spot night lemurs, sleeping birds, and geckos. Overnight at Relais de Kirindy Hotel.

Day 7: Explore Kirindy and Travel to Bekopaka

After breakfast, explore Kirindy Forest to see lemurs, the fossa, and various birds. Drive to the Tsingy National Park entrance at Bekopaka, crossing two rivers by ferry.

After lunch in Belo sur Tsiribihina, continue the journey, crossing the Manambolo River before reaching the hotel. Overnight at Orchidée du Bemaraha Hotel.

Day 8: Full Day Visit to Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park

Explore Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Madagascar’s largest protected area. Visit the cathedral, viewpoint, and hanging bridge, and look for sifaka lemurs, brown lemurs, birds, and possibly the fossa, along with native plants like palissandre.

After lunch, continue exploring or relax at the hotel. Overnight at Orchidée du Bemaraha Hotel.

Day 9: Return to Morondava with Sunset at Baobab Avenue

After breakfast, head back to Morondava, stopping at the “In-Love Baobab,” a pair of baobab trees grown together. In the evening, watch the sunset at Baobab Avenue before heading to Morondava for the night at Vezo Beach Hotel.

Day 10: Drive Back to Antsirabe

After breakfast, drive back to Antsirabe, stopping at villages along the way. Overnight at Vatolahy Hotel in Antsirabe.

Day 11: City Tour and Travel to Ranomafana with Night Walk

After breakfast, enjoy a city tour including the Zebu Horn Workshop, a half-precious stone workshop, and a rickshaw ride. Continue on RN7 toward Ranomafana, stopping at Ambositra to visit a woodcraft workshop.

In the evening, join a night walk in Ranomafana to see frogs, chameleons, and night-active lemurs. Overnight at Centrest Hotel.

Day 12: Explore Ranomafana National Park

Spend the full day in Ranomafana National Park, one of Madagascar’s biggest rainforests, with lemurs, birds, plants, and waterfalls.

In the afternoon, swim in the natural hot springs or visit the botanical garden to spot chameleons. Overnight at Centrest Hotel or similar.

Day 13: Visit Anja Park and Travel to Ranohira

After breakfast, leave early for Ranohira, stopping at Anja Park to see and photograph ring-tailed lemurs and chameleons.

After lunch, continue to Ranohira and check into Satrana Lodge Hotel or similar.

Day 14: Full Day Adventure in Isalo National Park

After breakfast, explore Isalo National Park, known for its rock formations and natural swimming pools. Enjoy a picnic lunch at one of the park’s pools.

In the afternoon, hike back and return to your hotel. Overnight at Satrana Lodge Hotel.

Day 15: Drive to Ifaty with Wildlife Stops

After breakfast, drive toward Ifaty, stopping to photograph the colorful Mahafaly tombs and take a walking safari to see Verreaux’s sifaka lemurs, sportive lemurs, and chameleons.

Visit Antsokay Arboretum before arriving in Ifaty. Overnight at La Bella Donna Hotel or similar.

Days 16 to 17: Relax and Explore Ifaty Beach

These two days are free to enjoy the beach. Visit the nearby baobab forest, snorkel, or go scuba diving. Overnight at La Bella Donna Hotel.

Day 18: Fly Back to Antananarivo

After a relaxed morning at the beach, drive to Toliara for lunch, then take a domestic flight back to Antananarivo. On arrival, transfer to Chalet des Roses Hotel for your final night.

Day 19: Souvenir Shopping and Departure

Spend your last morning shopping for souvenirs, including Malagasy crafts, spices, and vanilla. Transfer to Ivato International Airport 2 hours before your flight.
