Detailed 15-Day Madagascar Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Antananarivo and Hotel Transfer
On arrival at the airport in Antananarivo, your English-speaking guide will meet and welcome you. After handling formalities and currency exchange, you will be transferred to your hotel in the city center to rest and relax for the day.
Day 2: Drive to Antsirabe with Pottery Workshop Visit
Travel south to Antsirabe, passing red mud houses and open land along the way. Stop at a pot-making factory to see how aluminum pots are made, then continue to your hotel to relax.
Day 3: Rickshaw Tour of Antsirabe and Travel to Miandrivazo
After breakfast, join a rickshaw city tour, then take National Road 34 to Miandrivazo, stopping in Betafo for a hike and a visit to a local school before continuing to Miandrivazo, arriving in the late afternoon.
Day 4: Travel to Kirindy and Night Walk
Travel to Kirindy, with stops along the way to stretch and take in the scenery of western Madagascar. In the evening, join a night walk in Kirindy Reserve to see lemur species, snakes, and the giant jumping rat, found only in western Madagascar.
Day 5: Explore Kirindy Reserve and Sunset at Baobab Avenue
After breakfast, visit Kirindy Reserve. You may see the fossa, sifaka lemurs, red-fronted brown lemurs, couas, paradise flycatchers, and the narrow-striped mongoose, along with baobabs and young palissandre trees.

Day 6: Return Journey to Antsirabe
Travel back to Antsirabe, with photo stops along the way to enjoy the scenery and stretch. Arrive in Antsirabe and settle into your hotel.
Day 7: Drive to Ambalavao and Cultural City Tour
After breakfast, head to Ambalavao. On arrival, join a cultural city tour, including a visit to a paper factory that makes handmade paper from the Havoha tree, a method brought by Arab traders. Check in to your hotel and relax.
Day 8: Visit Anja Park and Travel to Ranohira
Head to Ranohira, stopping at Anja Park, home to many ring-tailed lemurs. Continue toward Ihosy, noticing the change from green highlands to dry southern land. Pass the “Gateway to the South” granite formation and the Bishop’s Hat, a sacred site, before arriving in Ranohira at the edge of Isalo National Park. End the day watching the sunset from the “Window of Isalo.”
Day 9: Full Day Hike in Isalo National Park
Spend the day exploring Isalo National Park, known for its sandstone formations, with rugged mountains, deep gorges, and clear pools. Hike through the park, where rocks change color and canyons carry water even in the dry season. Cool off in a natural swimming pool after your hike.
Day 10: Travel to Ranomafana National Park and Night Walk
Head to Ranomafana, home to one of the last mountain forests in the world, with many animal and plant species. End the day with a night walk in the park.
Day 11: Morning Walk in Ranomafana and Return to Antsirabe
Join a guided morning walk in Ranomafana National Park to see golden bamboo lemurs, black and white ruffed lemurs, mantellas, and giraffe weevils. Travel back toward Antsirabe, stopping along the way, and arrive in the late afternoon.
Day 12: Drive to Andasibe and Night Walk
Leave for Andasibe, home to the Perinet Reserve, arriving in the afternoon to enjoy the sights and sounds of lemurs and other wildlife. In the evening, join a night walk to spot frogs, chameleons, and night-active lemurs.
Day 13: Explore Andasibe National Park and Vakona Reserve
