Detailed 8-Day Madagascar Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Antananarivo and Tour Briefing
On arrival at the airport, we will meet you with a sign showing your name and drive you to your hotel in Antananarivo for a detailed briefing about your tour. Overnight in Antananarivo.
Day 2: City Tour of Tana and Drive to Antsirabe
After breakfast at your hotel, visit the Queen’s Royal Palace to learn about Madagascar’s monarchy. Visit the local market to see colorful products and get a feel for the Malagasy lifestyle.
Drive to Antsirabe, with a stop in Ambatolampy to visit Madagascar’s pot-making center. In the evening, arrive in Antsirabe and check in to your hotel for the night.
Day 3: Antsirabe Tour and Journey to Morondava
Tour the city of Antsirabe, visiting the Zebu Horn Factory and seeing more of the town. Continue your journey to Morondava, passing land, villages, and many zebus, along with some baobab trees along the road. On arrival in Morondava, check into your hotel for the night.
Day 4: Drive to Bekopaka via Baobab Alley
After breakfast, drive to Bekopaka, the gateway to Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park, passing through Baobab Alley with a brief stop for your first views.
Cross two rivers by ferry. After the first ferry, stop in Belo sur Tsiribihina for lunch, then continue toward Bekopaka. Just before reaching Bekopaka, cross the Manambolo River by ferry and drive a few minutes to Orchidee du Bemaraha Hotel for the night.
Day 5: Explore Big and Small Tsingy de Bemaraha
After breakfast, head out to explore the Big Tsingy, seeing lemurs, chameleons, night-active lemurs, and ring-tailed mongooses. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the middle of the rock forest.
In the afternoon, visit the Small Tsingy for more of this landscape, or relax by the pool with a cold drink. Overnight at Orchidee du Bemaraha Hotel in Bekopaka.
Day 6: Return to Morondava with Sunset at Baobab Alley
After breakfast, begin your return trip to Morondava. Visit the Sacred Baobab and the “In Love Baobab,” where two large baobabs have grown together, a symbol of love where many couples come to renew their vows.
Visit Baobab Alley to watch the famous sunset. The baobabs here are over 800 years old and are one of Madagascar’s top attractions. After sunset, continue to Morondava for the night.
Day 7: Drive Back to Antsirabe
After breakfast, drive back to Antsirabe, passing villages and people working in rice fields, along with views of semi-desert land and mountains. On arrival in Antsirabe, check in to the Royal Palace Hotel.
Day 8: Return to Antananarivo and Departure
After breakfast, drive to Antananarivo, taking in the scenery and greenery of the highlands along the way. On arrival, go straight to the airport, arriving at least 2 hours before check in.
