Detailed 24-Day Madagascar Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Antananarivo & Hotel Briefing

When you arrive at the airport, we will meet you with a sign showing your name. We will transfer you to your hotel in Antananarivo, where you will receive a private briefing about your journey and can ask any questions. You will spend the night at Chalet des Roses Hotel or a similar hotel.

Day 2: City Tour of Tana & Drive to Antsirabe

After breakfast, you will visit the Queen’s Palace to learn about the Malagasy monarchy, and then visit a market to experience local life. Afterward, you will depart for Antsirabe, stopping briefly at the pot-making capital of Madagascar. Later, you will enjoy a short city tour by rickshaw. You can choose to dine at your hotel or visit a local restaurant. Overnight at Vatolahy Hotel or similar.

Day 3: Antsirabe Tour & Travel to Morondava

After breakfast, you will continue your city tour of Antsirabe, visiting the zebu horn factory and miniature town. Then, you will travel southwest on National Road 34 to Morondava, with stops for photos of mountains, zebus, gold mining, and local villages. Overnight at Vezo Beach Hotel or similar.

Day 4: Visit Kirindy Forest & Night Walk

After breakfast, you will visit Kirindy Forest, where you will see animals, birds, and plants, including the famous fossa and large baobabs. You will stop at Baobab Avenue for photos before continuing to Kirindy Reserve. In the evening, enjoy a night walk to see nocturnal lemurs, birds, geckos, and other animals. Overnight at Relais de Kirindy or similar.

Day 5: Explore Kirindy & Travel to Bekopaka

After breakfast, you will explore more of Kirindy Forest to see lemurs, birds, and the fossa. Later, you will travel to Bekopaka, the gateway to Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park, crossing two rivers by ferry. After lunch, you’ll continue to your hotel, crossing one more river near your destination. Overnight at Orchidée du Bemaraha Hotel or similar.

Day 6: Full-Day Visit to Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park

Today you will explore Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You’ll see the “cathedral,” the viewpoint, and the hanging bridge. Look out for Sifaka lemurs, brown lemurs, birds, and the fossa, as well as unique plants. Enjoy lunch at the park and continue your visit to the small Tsingy or relax at your hotel. Overnight at Orchidée du Bemaraha or similar.

Day 7: Return to Morondava via Baobab Avenue

After breakfast, you will drive south to Morondava, stopping at the famous “In Love Baobab,” two intertwined baobab trees. Continue to Baobab Avenue to watch the sunset and take photos. Arrive in Morondava in the evening. Overnight at Vezo Beach Hotel or similar.

Day 8: Drive Back to Antsirabe

After breakfast, you will travel back to Antsirabe, passing villages, rice fields, and mountains. You will have the chance to meet local people and learn about their culture. Overnight at Vatolahy Hotel or similar.

Day 9: Travel to Ranomafana National Park & Night Walk

Today you will continue on Route 7 to Ranomafana National Park. Along the way, you will meet locals and see terraced rice paddies. In the evening, enjoy a night walk in the park to spot frogs, chameleons, and lemurs. Overnight at Centrest Hotel or similar.

Day 10: Full-Day Exploration of Ranomafana National Park

Spend the full day exploring Ranomafana National Park, a large rainforest with lemurs, birds, plants, and waterfalls. You can choose to swim in the hot springs or visit the botanical gardens. Overnight at Centrest Hotel or similar.

Day 11: Return to Antsirabe

After breakfast, you’ll head back to Antsirabe, enjoying the views of rice paddies and local vendors along the way. Overnight at Vatolahy Hotel or similar.

Day 12: Drive to Andasibe & Night Walk

Today you will travel to Andasibe, home to Madagascar’s largest lemur, the Indri-Indri, along with other lemurs and chameleons. In the evening, enjoy a night walk to see nocturnal lemurs, frogs, and chameleons. Overnight at Lemurs Lodge Hotel or similar.

Day 13: Full-Day Visit to Andasibe National Park

Spend a full day exploring Andasibe National Park. You’ll see many types of lemurs, birds, and unique plants. Keep an eye out for crocodiles, ducks, and kingfishers. Overnight at Lemurs Lodge Hotel or similar.

Day 14: Explore Mantadia National Park

After breakfast, visit Mantadia National Park for more wildlife and jungle exploration. After your visit, return to your hotel for the night. Overnight at Lemurs Lodge Hotel or similar.

Day 15: Travel to Palmarium Reserve & Night Safari

After breakfast, travel along RN2 to Palmarium Reserve. When you reach Manambato, board a boat on the Pangalanes Channel to Palmarium. In the evening, enjoy a night safari to see the Aye Aye. Overnight at Palmarium Resort & Spa or similar.

Day 16: Visit Palmarium Reserve & Local Village

Explore Palmarium Reserve to see lemurs, birds, and plants. Later, you can visit a local fishing village or relax at your accommodation. Overnight at Palmarium Resort & Spa or similar.

Day 17: Boat & Drive Back to Antananarivo

After breakfast, take the boat back to Mahambo and meet your driver. You’ll return to Antananarivo, stopping at waterfalls along the way. Overnight at Chalet des Roses Hotel.

Day 18: Fly to Nosy Be & Relax

Today you will fly to Nosy Be. Upon arrival, relax at your hotel or explore the town. Overnight at Gérard et Francine Hotel or similar.

Day 19: Leisure Day at the Beach

Spend a full day relaxing at your beachside hotel. Take a walk on the beach, explore the nearby village, or watch the sunset. Overnight at Gérard et Francine Hotel.

Day 20: Visit Nosy Tanikely & Nosy Komba

Visit Nosy Tanikely Marine Park for snorkeling, where you’ll see colorful fish and lemurs. Then visit Nosy Komba for more wildlife. After lunch, relax before returning to Nosy Be. Overnight at Gérard et Francine Hotel.

Day 21: Boat Trip to Nosy Iranja

Take a boat trip to Nosy Iranja, known for its white sand and sea turtles. After snorkeling and lunch, visit the local village and viewpoint before returning to Nosy Be. Overnight at Gérard et Francine Hotel.

Day 22: Free Day at Your Beachside Hotel

Enjoy a free day at your beachside hotel. Take a walk on the beach, visit the nearby village, or relax. Overnight at Gérard et Francine Hotel.

Day 23: Fly Back to Antananarivo

After breakfast, you will fly back to Antananarivo. A driver will take you to Central Hotel Tana for your last night.

Day 24: Souvenir Shopping & Departure
