Detailed 13-Day Madagascar Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Antananarivo & Safari Briefing

Upon arrival at the airport, we will be waiting to welcome you, holding a sign with your name on it. After greeting you warmly, we will drive you to your hotel in Antananarivo, where you will be briefed about your upcoming adventure and have any questions answered.

Day 2: Visit Queen’s Palace & Drive to Antsirabe

After breakfast at the hotel, we will visit the Queen’s Palace to learn about Madagascar’s monarchy. Then we’ll head to the market to see colorful local products and get a better understanding of Malagasy daily life.

After the visit, we will drive to Antsirabe, stopping at Ambatolampy to visit the pot-making capital of Madagascar. Upon arrival in Antsirabe, we’ll enjoy a city tour, and you’ll have dinner either at your hotel or at a restaurant in town. You will spend the night at Vatolahy Hotel.

Day 3: Antsirabe City Tour & Journey to Morondava

After breakfast, we’ll continue the city tour of Antsirabe, Madagascar’s third-largest city after Antananarivo and Toamasina. We’ll visit the Zebu Horn Factory and the miniatures workshop, then enjoy a rickshaw ride along the avenue.

We will continue southwest on National Road 34 toward Morondava, stopping along the way for photos of the landscapes, mountains, zebus, gold mining sites, and local villages.

Day 4: Drive to Bekopaka via Baobab Alley

After breakfast, we’ll head to Bekopaka village, the gateway to Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park. We will stop briefly at Baobab Alley to get our first look at these iconic trees. The drive continues through baobab forests, passing villages and crossing two rivers by ferry.

After the first ferry, we’ll stop for lunch in Belo sur Tsiribihina, then continue toward Bekopaka. We’ll cross the Manambolo River by ferry and drive about 30 minutes to reach Olympe du Bemaraha Hotel for the night.

Day 5: Explore Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park

Today, we’ll explore Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park, home to many species of lemurs, birds, and reptiles. The park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the largest protected area in Madagascar.

We’ll see the cathedral from the viewpoint, the hanging bridge, and wildlife including sifaka lemurs, brown lemurs, birds, and the fossa. We’ll also observe unique plants like palissandre trees.

After lunch, we’ll visit the smaller section of the park before returning to Olympe du Bemaraha Hotel.

Day 6: Return to Morondava with Sunset at Baobab Alley

After breakfast, we’ll travel south to Morondava. Along the way, we’ll stop at the “In-Love Baobab,” a pair of intertwined baobab trees symbolizing love. Many couples visit here to renew their vows.

We’ll continue to Baobab Alley to witness one of Madagascar’s most famous sunsets before arriving in Morondava for the night.

Day 7: Drive Back to Antsirabe

After breakfast, we’ll head back to Antsirabe. Along the way, we’ll stop in villages and have time to stretch and enjoy the scenery. We’ll spend the night at Vatolahy Hotel in Antsirabe.

Day 8: Return to Antananarivo

After a late breakfast, we’ll drive back to Antananarivo. Along the way, we’ll enjoy the landscape and stop for lunch at a well-known restaurant famous for duck liver and other local dishes.

We’ll spend the night at Le Tripolitsa Hotel in Antananarivo.

Day 9: Fly to Nosy Be & Relax at Sable Blanc Hotel

After breakfast, and depending on flight times, we’ll head to Ivato Airport to catch a domestic flight to Nosy Be. Upon arrival, we’ll check into Sable Blanc Hotel, where you can relax or explore Nosy Be.

Day 10: Free Day to Enjoy Nosy Be Island

Today is a free day for you to relax at the beach or explore Nosy Be further. Optional activities include visiting nearby islands, kayaking, and snorkeling. You will stay again at Sable Blanc Hotel.

Day 11: Day Trip to Nosy Iranja Island

After breakfast, we’ll head to Nosy Be port and take a 1.5-hour speedboat ride to Nosy Iranja, one of Madagascar’s most beautiful islands. You’ll enjoy lunch, featuring mixed seafood, and have time for snorkeling and visiting the village of Nosy Iranja.

Day 12: Fly Back to Antananarivo & City Tour

After breakfast, we’ll transfer to the airport in Nosy Be and fly back to Antananarivo. After checking into the hotel, we’ll visit the upper city, Manjakamiadana Palace, and the Andafiavaratra Museum, important historical sites in Madagascar.

Day 13: Souvenir Shopping & Departure

On your final day, we’ll have a free morning to shop for souvenirs. You’ll find Malagasy crafts, spices, vanilla, and more. After shopping, we’ll transfer you to Ivato International Airport, arriving two hours before your flight. We wish you a safe journey home!
