Detailed 3-Day Rwanda Gorillas & Golden Monkeys Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Our safari guide will pick you up from Kigali and transfer you to Volcanoes National Park in the northern province of Rwanda. When you reach, you will check in to your safari lodge for an overnight stay as you get set for your mountain gorilla trekking experience the following day.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village Experience
Rise early for breakfast and head to the park headquarters for a short briefing meeting. During this meeting, you will be assigned to a random mountain gorilla group to track, divided into groups of 8 each. Immediately after the meeting, you will head to the Virunga Mountains to search for gorillas.
This activity can take up to 8 hours depending on how long it takes to locate the gorillas. Once you find them, you will spend an hour with them and then return to the park headquarters to receive your respective gorilla tracking certificates.
In the afternoon, visit Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village for a Rwandan cultural experience and return to your lodge for overnight stay.
Day 3: Golden Monkey Trekking and Departure
Today, trek golden monkeys in the morning. Golden monkey trekking is slightly shorter than gorilla tracking, lasting only 1 to 4 hours in the forest. After trekking golden monkeys, return to Kigali to catch your flight back home. End of 3 Days Rwanda Gorillas and Golden Monkeys Tour.
