This 2-day Karisimbi package offers a significant physical challenge. Climbing this mountain cannot be done in a single day. On the first day, you will ascend and spend the night near the summit, culminating with reaching the summit and descending the following day. Climbing Karisimbi is moderately difficult but requires a high level of fitness.

Detailed 2-Day Karisimbi Climbing Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Ascend Mount Karisimbi
Early in the morning, our tour guide will transfer you to Volcanoes National Park in Musanze. Upon arrival, you will proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing before beginning your hike. Porters are available to assist with carrying your belongings for a small fee of $5 to $10, if needed. You can also choose to carry your gear yourself. The group will ascend at the pace of the slowest member to ensure everyone stays together.
You will camp overnight near the summit, with security provided throughout your adventure.
Day 2: Reach the Summit and Descend
In the morning, you will complete your ascent to the summit and then descend the mountain. The views from the top are incredibly rewarding, offering panoramic vistas of the other Virunga Volcanoes. The summit provides an ideal setting for capturing lifetime photographs.
After this achievement, you will descend to the starting point where your tour guide will be waiting to transfer you back to Kigali for your departure.
