Day 1: Ascend Mount Karisimbi
Early in the morning, our tour guide will transfer you to Volcanoes National Park in Musanze. On arrival, proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing before starting your hike. Porters are available to help carry your belongings for a small fee of $5 to $10, if needed, or you can carry your own gear. The group ascends at the pace of the slowest member to keep everyone together.
You will camp overnight near the summit, with security provided throughout the adventure.
Day 2: Reach the Summit and Descend
In the morning, complete your ascent to the summit, then descend the mountain. The views from the top are incredibly rewarding, with panoramic vistas of the other Virunga Volcanoes. The summit is an ideal spot for lifetime photographs.
