20-Day Exclusive Kenya, Tanzania, and Zanzibar Safari: Wildlife and Beaches

Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi and Hotel Transfer

On arrival at the airport, our driver guide will meet you and give a briefing on the trip while transferring you to your hotel in Nairobi. Depending on your arrival time, you may stop at points of interest along the way. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 2: Transfer to Samburu National Park

After an early breakfast, drive to Samburu National Reserve, with views of the Kenyan countryside and the Great Rift Valley along the way.

Arrive in the afternoon for lunch and an afternoon game drive across the northern plains, looking for Masai lions, cheetahs, and leopards, along with elephants, cape buffalo, hippos, impalas, and waterbucks. Over 350 bird species can also be seen here.

Day 3: Travel to Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, travel to Lake Nakuru to see one of the largest flamingo populations in the world, driving through the Rift Valley along the way.

Check in at the lodge in the afternoon for lunch and an evening game drive, looking for white and black rhinos and the flamingos that give the lake its color. Return to the lodge in the late evening for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Drive to Masai Mara National Reserve

After an early breakfast, take a morning walk along the shores of Lake Nakuru to see the flamingos up close.

In the afternoon, transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya’s most visited reserve, known for its savanna grasslands and the wildebeest migration.

Day 5: Full Day Game Drive

After breakfast, join a full day game drive in Masai Mara, with early sightings of the Big Five, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, warthogs, and zebras. Also witness the wildebeest migration, as millions of wildebeests and zebras move in search of pasture and water.

Day 6: Morning Game Drive and Maasai People

After breakfast, join another game drive to see more of Masai Mara’s wildlife. After lunch, visit the Maasai Cultural Village for traditional dances, local food, and time with the Maasai people.

Day 7: Cross to Tanzania to Serengeti National Park

After an early breakfast, depart Masai Mara and cross into Tanzania via the Sirari border point. Drive to Serengeti National Park, one of the ten natural wonders of the world. Arrive in the evening at the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Full Day Game Drive

After breakfast, join a full day game drive across Serengeti National Park, covering about 14,000 sq. km, with sightings of the Big Five along with zebras, warthogs, giraffes, gazelles, antelopes, and wildebeests. This is also a good day to see the wildebeest migration in action.

Day 9: Morning Game Drive and Maasai Community

After breakfast, join another game drive to see more of Serengeti’s wildlife. After lunch, visit a Maasai Cultural Village for traditional dances, local food, and time with the community.

Day 10: Transfer to Ngorongoro Crater Area Conservation

Travel to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to explore Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest intact caldera that isn’t a lake, often called Africa’s Eden for its wildlife.

Day 11: Full Day Game Drive

After breakfast, drive along the crater for a full day of exploring, looking for zebras, elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, gazelles, lions, cheetahs, leopards, and rhinos, along with many bird species.

Day 12: Travel to Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National Park, known for its rare tree-climbing lions, found only here and in the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park in Uganda.

Arrive in the afternoon for lunch. After some rest, join a canoeing trip on Lake Manyara to see bird species, especially pink flamingos, up close. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 13: Full Day Game Drive

Early in the morning, have breakfast and join a full day game drive in Lake Manyara National Park, looking for tree-climbing lions resting in the fig trees, along with large herds of elephants and buffaloes. Have lunch in the wild and return to the lodge late in the evening.

Day 14: Transfer to Tarangire National Park

Early morning, have breakfast and check out of the lodge. Drive out of the park, with lunch on the way, and continue to Tarangire National Park.

Day 15: Full Day Game Drive

After breakfast, join a full day game drive in Tarangire National Park, with quick sightings of large herds of elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, and gazelles. The park sits along an important migration trail, so you may also see the wildebeest migration. Have lunch in the wild and return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 16: Travel to Arusha and Fly to Zanzibar

After breakfast, check out of the lodge and drive to Arusha to catch a flight to Zanzibar, one of the most popular islands in the Indian Ocean. Arrive in the evening, check in at the lodge, and enjoy dinner and overnight stay.

Day 17: Stone Town Guided Walk

Start with an early breakfast, then join a full day guided tour of Stone Town, visiting the House of Wonders, the Palace Museum, and the Arab Fort. After lunch, visit the Cathedral, mosques, and the Zanzibar market for souvenirs. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 18: Spice Farm Tour and Jozani Forest

After breakfast, join a spice tour to explore the spice and fruit plantations near Stone Town, learning about the spices and herbs grown on the island. Have lunch at the guide’s home to taste the spices.

After lunch, head to the beach resort, passing Jozani Forest, home to the rare red colobus monkey and other monkey species. Relax on the beach, then return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 19: Beach Relaxation

Spend the full day relaxing at the beach, with time for swimming, sunbathing, and beach sports.

Day 20: Departure

Early in the morning, have breakfast and travel to Zanzibar Airport for your departure flight.
