Detailed 19 Day East Africa Tour
Day 1: Pickup and Kampala Tour
As you land at Entebbe international airport, our driver-guide will meet and brief you about the tour. Thereafter the next in today’s program will be visiting the reptile village to learn of the different reptile species on earth, notably the snakes, tortoises, and chameleons among others.
Thereafter you will head for lunch in town before proceeding to Uganda Museum, then later on to your accommodation facility for refreshment, dinner, and overnight.
Day 2: Drive to Murchison Falls National park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
At Daybreak, breakfast gets consumed, before hitting the road on a 5-6-hours’ drive to Murchison falls national park; home to the world’s most powerful waterfall. All way through to the park is marked by busy towns, plantations, and landscapes.
There will be an en-route stopover at Nakasongola district for Lunch, and a one-hour rhino tracking at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. They are a few surviving white rhino species in the world. Arrival at the lodge in or outside your park will be late in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Game Drive & Launch Cruise
After a hefty breakfast meal at the lodge; a 3-4-hour game drive at the northern sector of the park follows, with a high chance of encountering a variety of mammals often talked of; four of the big5; namely lions, elephants, buffalos, and leopards, zebras, warthogs, and many more, plants and birds.
After a game drive, there will be a lunch break, followed by a rewarding afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of the world’s most powerful waterfalls.
The cruise sails to the point where you watch the water squeeze itself on a 7-meter gorge to the Nile, as well as listen to the defending thunders.
Other attractions to capture at this point include; crocodiles, hippos, water birds, and several others. End the day with dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Start your morning with a lip-smacking breakfast meal, and thereafter checkout for a transfer to Kibale forest; Uganda’s primate hub, with over 13 unique primate species.
The drive lasts for 9-10 hours, with a Lunch en-route, a variety of plant species, plantations, scattered homesteads, and several others. You will arrive at the lodge late in the evening for refreshment, dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Chimp trekking and Isunga cultural encounter
With plenty to encounter this day, the activities will kick start early, with a lovely breakfast meal, followed by a drive to the park headquarters for a pre trekking briefing, and then eventually a 1-5-hour trekking experience.
As you search for the chimps, the sight and sound of more residents will be seen, notably the colobus monkeys, baboons and vervet monkeys among others, birds and reptiles. On a lucky day, you can change the forest elephants and buffalos.
Upon locating the ape, you will be given an extra hour for photography, and watching the primates play, thereafter return to the lodge for lunch, and encounter a knowledgeable guide from the Isunga cultural community for a community walk, top of the world adventure and village dances. At sunset, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Drive to Volcanoes National Park – Rwanda
After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge for a drive to Volcanos national park; home to the rare endangered mountain Gorillas. The transfer comes with views of breathtaking sceneries, water bodies and plantations in the countryside. Document verification will be at the fascinating body post, as you proceed to the lodge for diner and overnight.
Day 7: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park
At sunrise, you will leave the comfort of your bed very early in the morning for breakfast, and registration at the park headquarters. This registration is followed by a briefing by the park rangers who explain the trekking dos and don’ts, as well as allocate members to the different Gorilla families.
The trekking picks up momentum from the point where apes were last seen, following the footsteps, sound and broken tree branches to where they will be found. A faster trekker uses less than 7 hours to find the Apes, before enjoying the additional one hour taking photos, studying the apes and resting.
Thereafter you will return to the lodge for certificates, followed by refreshment, Lunch, dinner, and overnight at the lodge.
Day 8: Golden monkey trekking and visit to the twin lakes
After an exciting night, warm your intestines first thing early morning, and then exit the lodge for a transfer to the park headquarters for registration and briefing. Golden monkeys define what beauty should be, and what swiftness is.
They fear humans, and skip from one tree branch to another; thus the need for you to be so attentive while taking photos, and watching them in the additional one hour.
After Golden monkey trekking, which can last for over 4 hours, you will return to the lodge for lunch, and then sum up the day at the shoreline of Twin lakes; taking photos, and enjoying the cool breath. You will retire at the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Visit Kigali genocide memorial site and flight to Nairobi, Kenya
After enjoying the best of the day’s breakfast meal, you will check out of the lodge for a transfer to Kigali international airport for a flight to Nairobi Kenya; a flight that comes after Lunch, and a visit to the genocide memorial site; a place where over 250000 Tutsis were buried after the 1994 ethnic Conflict. As you arrive at Nairobi, our company representative will meet, brief, and take you for dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 10: Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park
Kick start this da with a tasty cup of coffee, and then hit the road to Lake Nakuru; a birders paradise, after a city tour. The other captivating attractions en route the park includes the Great Rift Valley; where you will have a stopover for photography and then the flourishing plantations in the countryside. You will arrive at the park for lunch, and refreshment, before retiring at the lodge with dinner and overnight at sunset.
Day 11: Game drive and Bird-watching
After breakfast, a game drive follows; a 3-4-hour drive across the different territories at the shores of Lake Nakuru; looking out for; the giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, and warthogs among others. Lunch break will be followed by birdwatching at the shoreline; with flamingos, kingfishers, and several other birds parading for photos. The day ends with dinner and overnight.
Day 12: Drive to Masai Mara National Reserve
Today; you will brighten your day with a lip-smacking breakfast meal at the lodge, and then checkout for Kenya’s top wildlife destination; Masai Mara national park. The drive passes through a route with the Great Rift Valley sceneries, plantations and happy natives.
A first stopover will be at the Great Rift Valley for photography, and then the other at Narok trading center for lunch. Dinner and overnight bring this day to an end.
Day 13: Full Day Game drive
Start your day with a tasty cup of coffee, preceded by a full day wildlife search, while on a game drive. Masai Mara is not only beautiful, but also gifted with a variety of flora and fauna, and over 20% of the lion population in the world.
The residents you will chance to encounter today are not limited to wildebeest, hippos, crocodiles, hyena, zebras, cheetah, elephants, warthogs, and several antelope species. The park is an extension of Serengeti national park in Tanzania.
You will have lunch at the park, explore the Mara River, before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 14: Cross to Tanzania – Serengeti National Park
At Masai Mara, you will have a lip-smacking breakfast meal and then check out of the lodge for a transfer to Serengeti national park; home to one of the world wonders, the annual wildebeest migration.
There will be a lunch break en route at the scenic border post, before traversing the plains and scattered homesteads to the lodge in or outside the park for dinner and overnight.
Day 15: Full day game drive
Very early in the morning, you will depart the warmth of the bed to the silence of the wild to encounter the early birders and night hunters in their different territories. A mention of these residents; lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos, hyenas, wildebeest, giraffes, and several antelope species among others.
You will have a bush breakfast, followed by a two-hour game drive, lunch, and then a sunset drive back to the lodge for dinner and a nap.
Day 16: Morning Game Drive and transfer to Ngorongoro crater
The first thing today is a sunrise game drive, as you will look out for the morning risers, and the deep night hunters return to their territories. Most especially those you might have missed out on the previous day.
Thereafter greet your intestines with a lip-smacking breakfast meal, and then checkout for Ngorongoro crater; with an en-route stopover at Olduvai Gorge, to learn of the history of the fossil believed to be of the first inhabitants of the earth.
Arrive at your lodge in the park for lunch, refreshment, dinner, and overnight
Day 17: Game drive and afternoon descent to the crater
Kick start this day with a lip-smacking breakfast meal at the lodge, and then a game drive in the vast Ngorongoro crater plains, looking out for the different prey and predators of all sizes, colors, and ages.
In the 3-4 hour such, the residents you can encounter include among others; leopard, buffalos, giraffes, zebras, and cheetahs, among others birds and primates.
Thereafter, you will have a Picnic Lunch, followed by the top of the Crater hike. Ngorongoro crater is the largest in the world and is surrounded by several animal hideouts. After taking photos, you will enjoy a sunset drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 18: Full day birding experience
You will have a relaxed morning breakfast meal at the lodge, and then spend the entire day exploring birds, studying knowing their names, and unique characteristics.
Over 400 unique bird species have been identified in this territory; notably the bustard, Flamingos, egrets, and ostriches among others.
An experienced birder will help you identify the different species by name, size, sound and color. A lunch break will redeem your strength, before enjoying the evening at the lodge and then dinner and overnight.
Day 19: Departure
Wake up to a bright day; one with a tasty cup of coffee and beautiful sunrise. Thereafter, you will checkout for a drive to the airport for a flight to the next destination.
