Located in Loitoktok District, Rift Valley, Kenya, Amboseli is home to various animals, with elephants being the primary sight. The park shelters over 56 mammal species, including giraffes, zebras, African wild dogs, white-bearded wildebeests, jackals, Grevy’s and Burchell’s zebras, Defassa waterbucks, Masai giraffes, Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelles, hippos, cheetahs, hartebeests, Cape buffaloes, and free-ranging elephants against the scenic backdrop of Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain.
Amboseli also has a number of bird species, though it is not typically recommended for dedicated bird watching safaris in Kenya.
This UNESCO heritage and Biosphere Reserve sits right on the border of Kenya and Tanzania, offering spectacular scenery with a wide array of wildlife roaming the golden savanna plains.
