Detailed 3-Day Masai Mara Flying Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Fly to Masai Mara National Reserve
Depart from your hotel in Nairobi to Wilson Airport for a one hour chartered flight to Masai Mara National Reserve. Along the way, enjoy stunning views over Kenya’s landscape, including the Great Rift Valley Escarpment.
On arrival at the airstrip, our safari leader will meet you for the drive to your tented camp or safari lodge. During this road transfer through the reserve, you will spot some wildlife along the way.
You will arrive at the lodge by noon. After you settle in and freshen up, board an open safari vehicle for a game drive. Expect to see warthogs, Cape buffaloes, lions, African bush elephants, and zebras. You may also spot wildebeests, Masai giraffes, hippos, cheetahs, Kirk’s dik-dik, impalas, bushbucks, Thomson’s gazelles, and leopards.
Afterward, return to the lodge for a traditional candle-lit African dinner served under the stars, with entertainment from local dancers.
Day 2: Full Day Tours in Masai Mara National Reserve
After an early wake-up call with hot beverages and fresh fruits, set off on an open safari vehicle for a game viewing adventure. Guided by a park ranger, track impalas, wildebeests, Masai giraffes, and Defassa waterbucks. You may also see lions, cheetahs, hippos, leopards, kobs, rhinos, African wild dogs, and bushbucks before returning to camp for brunch.
Then, spend the mid-morning at leisure. Relax at the lodge, or enjoy the balcony views over the savanna plains instead. After a light meal, head out for a late afternoon game drive to spot more wildlife.
Dinner is served on your return to the lodge. Afterward, share the day’s memories around a bonfire with after-meal drinks.
Day 3: Fly Back to Nairobi City
After hot beverages or fresh juice, depart on a final game drive to see any animals you might have missed. Then, a full breakfast is served on your return to the lodge, followed by check out and transfer to the airstrip.
From there, continue with an afternoon flight back to Wilson Airport, Nairobi.
