This safari takes you to Africa’s top wildlife destinations, home to African elephants, Cape buffalo, lions, leopards, zebras, and more in Tanzania. The first night will be spent in the central Serengeti and the second night at Ngorongoro Crater. The journey starts and ends in Arusha, Tanzania, with an experienced tour guide.
The wilderness provides a safe environment where guests can explore, observe, and learn about various animals, plants, primates, water bodies, and the stunning landscape. Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater are both located in northern Tanzania.
Serengeti is famous for the annual wildebeest migration, the largest land animal movement on Earth. Ngorongoro Crater, with its vast caldera, is rich in diverse animal and bird life.
The safari includes game drives, sightseeing, and a guided nature walk.
Day 1: Transfer to Seronera (Central Serengeti National Park) – Sunset Nature Walk
At 07:00, your driver-guide will meet you and provide a briefing about the journey to northern Tanzania. The session lasts about 30 minutes and includes breakfast. Afterward, embark on the 305-kilometer drive, which takes approximately 5-6 hours.
The journey features stunning rolling plains, beautiful sky views, lush plantations, and traditional African homesteads. Along the way, you may see Maasai warriors herding their animals, dressed in traditional attire with culturally significant markings. There will be a stop for lunch before arriving at the park in the evening.
Upon arrival, register at the gate, then proceed to your lodge for check-in and refreshments. Later, enjoy a one-hour sunset nature walk, where you will observe plants, birds, and the beautiful sunset. End the day with dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 2: Game Drive and Transfer to Ngorongoro Crater
In Swahili, “Serengeti” means “endless plains.” Covering about 14,763 square kilometers, the Serengeti is home to diverse plants and animals. Your day starts at 06:00 with breakfast, followed by an exploration of the vast Serengeti ecosystem.
Expect to see lions, leopards, wildebeests, zebras, cheetahs, buffaloes, hyenas, elephants, warthogs, wild dogs, primates, and reptiles. The Seronera River and unique rock formations called kopjes add to the park’s scenic beauty.
The game drive lasts for 3-4 hours, after which you will enjoy a picnic lunch. Then, depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a 3-4 hour drive featuring views of homesteads, plantations, and bustling towns.
Arrive at your lodge at sunset, check in, and enjoy dinner and a restful night. Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest land volcanic caldera, surrounded by a ring of extinct volcanoes and home to diverse animals.
Day 3: Crater Tour and Departure
Start your day with a delicious breakfast at the lodge. Afterward, embark on a 5-hour crater tour in your safari vehicle, an excellent opportunity for sightseeing and photography on the crater floor.
Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest inactive volcanic caldera, is a natural wonder and co-host of the annual wildebeest migration. Look out for animals like giant elephants, African buffalo, black rhinos, cheetahs, crocodiles, hippos, lions, hyenas, warthogs, wildebeests, and various bird species.
Enjoy a picnic lunch before ascending and exiting the crater for the return drive to Arusha, which takes about 3-4 hours. This marks the end of your memorable 3-day safari.
