Day 2: Visit Okonjima Private Nature Reserve

Take a 3 hour drive north of Windhoek to Okonjima and the AfriCat Foundation, popular for leopard and brown hyena encounters. AfriCat is a non-profit that plays a key role in protecting Namibia’s large carnivores. Look out for leopards and cheetahs.

Day 3: Connect to Etosha National Park

Leave Okonjima and head north through Otjiwarongo, Otavi, and Tsumeb, entering Etosha National Park through the Lindequist Gate near Namutoni. Check in at your safari lodge, enjoy a meal, and relax in the afternoon.

Day 4: A Full Day Game Viewing at Etosha National Park

Leave your lodge for a morning game drive as wildlife becomes active. Look for kudus, oryx, jackals, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and lions. Have lunch, then continue with an afternoon game drive to close out your time in Etosha.

Day 5: Rundu

Leave Etosha for Rundu in the Kavango area, driving through scenic countryside. Rundu sits in the northeastern edge of Namibia and serves as a major administrative and economic hub. Arrive early and check in at your lodge to relax.

Day 6: Travel to Kongola

In the morning, transfer to Nkasa Rupara National Park, also known as Mamili National Park. Enjoy a game drive and boat cruise, looking for zebras, lions, buffaloes, elephants, and wildebeest.

After breakfast, drive to Kasane, where four Southern African countries meet: Zimbabwe, Botswana, Zambia, and Namibia. Chobe National Park is close by, home to large elephant herds. Enjoy a guided game drive and a sunset boat cruise.

Wake up early for sunrise and afternoon game viewing sessions through Chobe National Park. Look for lions, hyenas, giraffes, zebras, elephants, and many bird species. In the late afternoon, take a boat cruise to spot aquatic wildlife.
