Explore Amboseli National Park - Kenya's Elephant Paradise with Mount Kilimanjaro Views

Amboseli National Park is a place of striking beauty, where blue skies and gentle winds create ideal conditions for hot air balloon safaris.

These safaris allow tourists to view the park’s landscape and observe animals moving below.

In addition to hot air balloon safaris, Amboseli offers camping options. Tourists can camp in groups from different countries, each with their tent, at designated public campsites.

For those who prefer privacy, private camping is available, where families can enjoy a more secluded experience.

The park’s game drives are a popular attraction, with morning drives being particularly favored.

Early in the morning, visitors board safari vans and venture into the park, following the “early birds” of Amboseli, such as carnivores and herbivores.

Morning hours are ideal for spotting animals, as visitors are fresh and active, maximizing their chances of observing a variety of species.

Nature walks are also available, offering the unique thrill of walking among the park’s wild animals. Additionally, tourists can visit local communities to experience authentic Maasai culture.

Amboseli National Park derives its name from a Maasai word meaning “salty dust.”

It is located in Kajiado County, within Loitoktok District, and is known for its large elephant population.

For those who enjoy lush greenery, Amboseli offers the dried-up bed of Lake Amboseli, wetlands with sulfur springs, savannahs, and woodlands.

The park’s underground water supply is filtered through thousands of feet of volcanic rock from Kilimanjaro’s ice cap, feeding two springs in the heart of the park that sustain a wide variety of wildlife.
