Day 1: Arrival and Pick Up at the Airport, Drive to Windhoek City

Meet your Namibia tour guide at the airport for a short briefing on this long safari. Leave for Windhoek, Namibia’s biggest city, set on the Khomas Highland plateau at 1,700m. It is a great spot to start your trip or fly home after exploring Namibia’s wonders, with good city tours showing off local culture.

Day 2: Transfer to Sossusvlei

Leave your hotel for Sossusvlei, with a stop at Rehoboth for snacks and refreshments. Continue to your final stop, where you will take a sundowner drive to Elim Dune.

Day 3: Explore Sossusvlei

After breakfast, head to Namib-Naukluft National Park and the Sossusvlei sand dunes for a full day trip. Key spots include Dune 45, Hiddenvlei, Deadvlei, and Big Daddy, with stops for photos along the way. In the park, look for black rhinos, gemsbok, giraffes, springbok, buffaloes, and elephants.

Day 4: To Swakopmund

Meet your tour leader and leave Sossusvlei. Drive about 5 hours to Swakopmund, stopping in Walvis Bay for lunch. On arrival, check in and join a 2 hour guided quad biking and sandboarding trip, then have dinner and stay overnight at your lodge.

Day 5: Tour Etosha National Park

Leave Swakopmund for Etosha National Park. Arrive early, have lunch, then join an afternoon game drive, looking for elephants, springbok, zebras, rhinos, giraffes, lions, and many bird species.

Day 6: Another Full Day in Etosha

Join a full day wildlife drive with an experienced guide, spotting more animals, including any you missed the day before. Look for leopards, lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, and birds, with over 340 species in the park. Have lunch inside the park, then return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Transfer to Tsumeb

After breakfast, drive to Tsumeb, the biggest town in the Oshikoto area, near Etosha. Visit the Tsumeb mine and museum to learn about the area’s mineral history.

Day 8: To Kavango River

The Kavango River is the 4th longest river system in Southern Africa, running 1,600km from Angola into Namibia along the Angolan-Namibian border. See the cascading Popa Waterfalls before the river continues into Botswana, forming the Okavango Delta. Enjoy the scenery and wildlife on your afternoon game drive.

Day 9: Leave Kavango for Maun

Drive from Kavango to Maun, Botswana’s top tourism city and the administrative hub of Ngamiland District, home to many safari and air charter operators running trips into the Okavango Delta. Check in at your accommodation, then join a 2 hour mokoro, or traditional canoe, trip in the delta.

Day 10: Explore Thamalakane River

After a hearty breakfast, visit Maun’s Thamalakane River, which starts in the north of Botswana at the southern end of the Okavango Delta. Nearby, the Moremi Game Reserve is home to many rhinos, lions, and hippos. Enjoy a full day game drive along the river, then return to your lodge to relax. Also visit the Nhabe Museum, known for its art, history, and cultural exhibits.

Day 11: Transfer to Moremi Game Reserve

Pick up early and drive to the Khwai area of the Okavango, the northern edge of Moremi Game Reserve. Arrive early for an unforgettable evening game drive, spotting giraffes, elephants, and zebras.

Day 12: Explore Moremi Game Reserve on a Walking Excursion

Enjoy tea or coffee early, then join a guided walking trip around a nearby village. Watch women weave baskets and carpenters at work, with a chance to buy items as keepsakes.

Day 13: To Kasane

Leave Moremi for Kasane, one of Botswana’s biggest towns, known for large numbers of elephants that migrate close to the city. Enjoy a sunset boat cruise on the Chobe River, with great sightings of elephant herds, hippos, and more.

Days 14 to 15: Game Drives in Chobe National Park

Enjoy game drives in Chobe National Park, looking for wild dogs, lions, leopards, blue wildebeest, bushbucks, giraffes, cheetahs, and hippos, plus over 560 bird species found in the park.

Day 16: Victoria Falls Tour

Leave Chobe for Victoria Falls, one of the most beautiful waterfalls and natural wonders in the world. Set on the southern bank of the Zambezi River, the falls stretch 1,700m wide with heights ranging from 80 to 108m. Enjoy sightseeing and visit local African arts, crafts, and cultural sites.

Day 17: Explore Victoria Falls

Join a 3 hour guided walk to explore Victoria Falls up close, with a photography experience and details on how the falls formed.

Day 18: Departure

Get picked up at your hotel and transferred to Victoria Falls Airport. Check in, clear with the authorities, then take your flight home, marking the end of this memorable African safari.
