Overview
Explore Kenya’s wildlife by visiting protected areas like Amboseli, Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Aberdare, and Samburu National Parks. Meaning it’s a big five safari combined with cultural tours where you visit the Maasai community for a great adventure.
While visiting these national parks in 10 Days, expect to meet wild animals like the Sitatunga, bushbucks, hartebeests, wildebeests, lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, buffalos, zebras, warthog, giraffes, crocodiles and more. Birds like flamingos, ibis, hornbills, fish eagles, egrets, vultures, and more. If it’s the month of migration, witness the annual wildebeest migration of the wildebeest together with zebras.
Detailed Itinerary
Day1. Transfer to Amboseli NP
Leave Nairobi and head to Amboseli National Park, home to the large herds of elephants accompanied by a great view of Mount Kilimanjaro in the background. The word Amboseli comes from the Maasai language that means salty dust and it’s one of the famous national parks in Kenya. Arrive and engage in the evening game drive to spot animals like elephants, buffalos, zebras, rhinos, and more. Head to check in the lodge for your dinner and night stay.
Day2. Full-day game drive
Spend a memorable time exploring the beautiful scenery occupied with wildlife such as zebras, giraffes, antelopes, wildebeest, hyenas, the big five, elephants, and more. The game drives are amazing as you will have different stopovers for picnics and animal viewing. Also, spot birds like hawks, vultures, eagles, hornbills, ibis, and many more others.
Day3. Transfer to Masai Mara NR
Leave Amboseli National Park after breakfast and then transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve a great tourist destination in Kenya to watch the big five animals and the annual wildebeest migrations. This reserve is connected to Serengeti National Park in Tanzania and named in honor of the Masai people who were early settlers of this land, Mara means spotted in the local language. Arrive and have a game drive to enjoy the beauty of the savannah dotted with short trees.
Day4-5. Explore Mara plains
Spend these two days enjoying the plains of the savannah plains through participating in game drives, hot air ballooning safaris, and community walks. There is a lot to spot and learn during these days such as lions, elephants, rhinos, giraffes, leopards, warthogs, zebras, gerenuk, kudu, cheetahs, crocodiles, and more.
Have an eagle-eye view of the park during the hot air balloon rides and then get entertained by the music and dances of the Masai, the dress code, and many more others. Also, a picnic lunch will be enjoyed, sunrise, sunset, and predator hunting are some of the great adventure moments that will not be missed.
Day6. Transfer to Lake Nakuru NP
Head to Lake Nakuru National Park getting its name from Lake Nakuru located in the park premises that invite large numbers of flamingo birds due to being a soda Lake. Apart from the flamingos, the park is home to other birds and wildlife such as buffalos, rhinos, giraffes, and many more. Arrive and head to the lodge for lunch followed by a game drive and dinner served later on.
Day7. Head to Aberdare National Park
Have a morning game drive in the park and breakfast will be served followed by a transfer to Aberdare National Park, a home to many wild animals. It’s the second home to large herds of black rhinos which means that you can’t miss spotting at least one herd. Arrive and head to enjoy a game drive in the park where you expect to meet elephants, buffalos, giraffes, blue and colobus monkeys, leopards, lion, warthog, giant forest hog, bushbuck, red duiker, reedbuck eland, and more. Check in the lodge for dinner and a night’s stay.
Day8. Head to Samburu Game Reserve
Have a morning game drive and then head to Samburu National Park, a prestigious wilderness covering an area of 165 square kilometers. Arrive and enjoy an evening game drive where you expect to spot giraffes, Somali ostriches, gerenuk, zebras, lions, cheetahs, elephants, and more. Head to the booked lodge for dinner.
Day9. Full day in Samburu
This will be a memorable day where you encounter different mammals and birds in the area with a great wilderness scenic view. Animals that won’t be missed are the reticulated giraffe, the Somali ostrich, the Gravy’s zebra, the Beisa Oryx, gerenuk, Aardwolf, African Hare, Antelope, Banded Mongoose, Bat Eared Fox, Bush baby, and others. There will be two game drives, one in the morning and another in the afternoon.
Day10. Transfer back to Nairobi
Leave Samburu plains at any point depending on your booked scheduled flight and transfer back to Nairobi city. Be dropped at the airport to mark the end of the 10-days safari to Kenya.
