4 Day Simien Mountains National Park
Day 1. Fly Addis Ababa – Gonder
You will arrive via Addis Bole International airport and you will be welcomed by our guide and you will be checked in to board your domestic flight to Gondar. Here you will meet with another team that will drive you to Simien Mountains. The simian mountains are a UNESCO world natural heritage site. When you get to the Simien mountains, you will check into the lodge and then head out to explore this scenic area. The escarpment of this area is a good spot to see the baboons. This particular spot is called the ‘bleeding heart baboon’ and it houses the Gelada baboons that are endemic to Ethiopia and can be seen in big numbers here. There are attracted here in large numbers due to the presence of good vegetation since they feed on herbs, grass and roots. They also eat insects like grasshoppers and locusts.

Day 2. Simien Mountains
We shall hike alone the escarpments in the morning. The Campsite is located in the Afro-Montane forest. The Jimbar water fall is one attraction to look out for today. This is the highest water fall in the world. We shall have our packed lunch here as you enjoy the beautiful views of the area. We shall then drive back to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 3. Simien Mountains
We shall drive from the Chennek campiste that stands at about 3,620 meters above sea level. We shall have chances of seeing the Gelada Monkeys on our way. We shall then summit at the Bwahit Pass which is the second tallest peak of these mountain ranges. It stands at an altitude of about 4,200 meters above sea level. There are chances of seeing the Ethiopian Wolf which is endangered and endemic to Ethiopia.

Day 4. Simien Mountains – Addis Ababa
We shall wake up a little late and have our breakfast. We can try to see a few animals around the lodge before driving to Gondar and then take our flight to Addis Ababa for our other flight home.
