This three days wildlife safari will lead us in the North Eastern part of the country called Awash National park. We shall go to the first valley in the country which is about 250 Kilometers from the Capital Addis Ababa. The park was gazzetted in the year 1966 as a recreation park for the royal family. Has about 460 bird species recorded here in recent time. Some of the other animals you expect to see here are: Beisa Oryx, Desert Warthog, Hamadryads Baboon, Abyssinian Hare, Salts DikDik, Spotted Hyena, Olive Baboon, Grivet’s Monkey, Ard Wolf, Bat-eared Fox, Summering’s Gazelle, Lesser Kudu, Golden Jackal and the African Wildcat
Itinerary
Day 1: Addis Ababa, Awash National Park
We shall drive to Awash National park in the morning. The distance will be about 230 kilometers from the capital Addis Ababa. One of the features we shall see while here are the DebreZeit Crater lakes. The drive to Awash national park will take us through volcanic hills and valleys. We shall then head to Lake Beseka that is flooded with bird life. Some of the special bird you will see here are Wattled Ibis, Pink-winged Pelican, African Fish Eagle and Saddled Stork. We shall also have a chance to see the Kereyu tribe. These people are nomads and they have very large herds of camels.
Later in the afternoon we shall head into the Awash National park and do an evening game drive and also explore the stunning Awash falls. Some of the wildlife we hope to encounter are the Oryx, lesser and greater Kudus and baboons. There are several cats we shall see here as well. We shall head to the lodge for overnight and dinner.

Day 2: Awash National Park, Ali Dege National Park
We shall have early morning game drive around the Awash National park. Our main concentration will be around the IIala grasslands and the Awash falls. We shall see many Olive Baboons, Waterbucks, Bushbucks and Byssen Oryx. There are many endemic and water birds here as well. We shall have a visit to the Doho hot springs. Our accommodation is also located here overlooking the Lake Doho. This lake was formed as a result the several hot springs here. You can relax here and watch the sun set in the evening or you can take a walk to the villages of the Afar people.
In the Afternoon we shall drive about 70 Kilometers to Ali Dege. Here you will see a lot of wildlife like the Gerenuk, Kori bustard, Zebras and Arabian Bustard.
Overnight: Doho Lodge
Day 3: Awash, Addis Ababa
After breakfast, we shall head back to the Capital Addis Ababa via the Express highway. We shall make a stopover at DebreZeit. Here there are many resorts where you can relax and then later head to Addis Ababa for your flight back home.
