3 Days Harar Tour

Day 1. Flight Addis Ababa – Dire Dawa
We shall take our flight from Dire Dawa from Addis Ababa probably aboard Ethiopian Airlines. When you arrive, you will make brief stop at the Kefira Market. We shall also stop at the largest market on our way to Harar. This city has for a long time been a very important town in the Islamic circles. We shall visit the former French poet, Arthur Rimbaud, house an works. The National and Harari museums are also located here. Other tractions here include the house of the father of Emperor Selassie, RasMekonnen. You will have a chance to feed the hyenas as well. This tradition has been practiced for a long time to control the hyenas from hunting from the homes of the locals or eating the humans.

Day 2. Explore Babile and the Valley of Marvels
Your guide will today morning drive to the valleys of Marvel and Babile. The Valley of Marvel have stunning landscapes with a balance in the formation of rocks here. There are short hiking excursions to learn about the geology of the place and the formation processes. We shall also visit the township of Babile with a very large market on Saturdays. They also have a camel market on Mondays and Thursdays. You will have time to explore the city at your own pace. You will return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 3. Discover the Amazing Town of Dire Dawa
Today we shall explore the city of Dire Dawa and it’s our last day of our safari. This old colonial town has a railway system built by the French. There is Kefira market which is the oldest in this town. There are however many other markets that you will see today. You will have chance to enjoy Ethiopian local food and also shop for souvenirs. The market experience will give you everlasting memories. You will later in the later drive back to Addis Ababa where you will take your flight back home.
