3 Day Addis Ababa and the Surrounding

Day 1. Addis Ababa City Tour
You will be picked from the airport for your hotel by our guide for this day as you adventure the city of Addis Ababa. We shall have an opportunity to visit the Holy Trinity Cathedral. From there we shall then head to the largest open air market in Africa, the Merkato market. We shall then go to the Entoto mountain where we shall have the best views of the Addis Ababa city. The National museum is also within a distance and you will have a chance to see the remains of the oldest homo sapient to have lived over 3 million years ago.

At the largest open air market, we shall get a glance at how business is run in the Ethiopian Capital. This market is a source for almost every commodity needed by the locals. You can get a souvenir here as well. There is an arts and culture section here.
The drive around the city will give you a chance to interact with several historical monuments in the city that play an important part in the history of the city and the country.

Day 2. Day trip to Debrelibanos
The adventure to this area will allow you to interact with the highlands of northern Addis Ababa. You will go through the lonely villages of the area. The landscape of the area is fascinating as it has highlands and then gorges that are as deep as 1000m deep. We shall have chance to explore all these gorges and see the abundant bird life here. The hike will be about 2 hours. We shall then cross using the old commercial bridge build in the early explorer days for commercial purposes as we head to the waterfalls and caves that are home to the Gelada Baboons.

Later in the after we shall head to the Monastery of DebreAzbo or DebreLibanos that is believed to have been found in the 13th Century. It was vandalized by the invasion of Italy in the year 1937. Another attraction you ought not miss is the octagonal church which is famous for the works of AfeworkTekle a famous artist on the glasses. There is a newly constructed museum that houses the remains of the special materials from the vandalised Monastery. We shall return to the hotel after.

Day 3. Day trip to MenageshaSubba Forest Park
Our tour will take us to the western area of the country. We shall stop about 30 Kilometres from the capital Addis Ababa. We shall hike for about 2 hours to the Menagesha Forest. Here you will interact with several special plants in this area like the
Today our journey to the west of Ethiopia begins. Our first stop is about 30 km from Addis Ababa. On a hike (2 to 3h), we will Giant juniper, Giant lobelia, heather and Giant ragweed.
Return back to Addis Ababa for overnight.

We shall have a farewell dinner in the evening as you enjoy traditional Ethiopian Cuisines while you listen to Ethiopian music and performances from the locals. You will later be taken to the airport for your departing flight.
